Overall my stay was great, first I will tell you the good things, but PLEASE read through the entire review. Room was decent size, King, 1st floor, decent bed, Keurig coffee maker,. Rates were reasonable. Shower was always hot with good pressure. Television had decent # of channels. Towels and sheets all clean, white and unstained. Parquet style floors were clean,
Now the down side. No iron or board, just a steamer, My room didnt have any bugs, but it was concerning when you notice a national pest control company come in and fumigate. Not just once, but twice, for the same room.
EVERY other BW I have stayed in has a breakfast and coffee in the lobby. Not here. They have hot water and tea, saying that their are coffee makers in the rooms. No breakfast, not even a bowl of fruit, packaged muffins, granola bars, etc by the hot water. NOTHING. They did however have a restaurant connected to the hotel, but they didnt even offer a discount for the guests who choose to eat there. This is a missed opportunity for the restaurant to get customers. I ate breakfast elsewhere.
Finally, check in was a nightmare. $1200 stay and I ran my credit card through their machine, it approved, and showed immediately on my cc app that the charge was authorized and pending. (Meaning that the credit charge was being held on my credit card) However, THEIR desk computer errored out, which mean they couldnt see that the charge went through. Not MY fault, THEIR COMPUTER errored out. I showed them that their credit card machine authorized the $1200 dollars and the charge was pending. Not good enough. And the desk clerk told me that this has happened before on that computer.
I was left scrambling trying to figure out how to pay for the hotel room since that pending charge left me near credit limit. When they tried to run it again, of course it declined. With a pending charge, if it doesnt eventually go through and get processed (which their computer would have to do, it takes at least 5-7 business days for those charges to come off, this was a Friday) The alternative I had was to pay a single night stay and figure out what to do for the remainder of the stay. Sure, they could have just let me stay, knowing that they could run the card again in a couple of days, but they refused. So I paid the first night from my debit card, funds needed for food and gasoline. I had to call my husband to help me out, who was 800 miles away. They required him to take a photo of the front and back of both his driver's license and photo id and sign a credit card authorization form for the remainder of the 9 nights.
It was obvious to me that this was not the first time this has happened since they knew right away what needed to be done and one of the front desk clerks said this HAS HAPPENED in the past. I am not sure how often, but once is enough that they should get it fixed on their end.
Like I said, the hotel was good, for the price. Would I stay here again? Maybe. I would be way worried though. You just dont mess with people's money. What would have happened if I couldnt rely on my spouse to bail me out of the situation? If it was any other situation I would have been stuck with no funds nor place to stay for the next 9 nights of my work trip. If this happened to you could you magically come up with ANOTHER 1200 to pay out until the original payment came off the pending on your charge card?
So, if you do decide to stay here make sure you have them run your payment in on the computer on the right side of the desk. The one on the left is the computer the desk clerk said has given them problems in the past with erroring out.

This was my first visit to Aiden by Best Western South Reno. Here are my first impressions of this property:
- Room size: 2 queen beds with standard tub/shower. Spacious.
- Dog friendly: Absolutely. The patrons and their critters that I observed were a myriad of large and medium sized pooches enjoying travel with their pet parents. I cannot emphasize the abundance of pet-friendly properties within the Best Western Network of hotels. It's about time and thank you Best Western!
- Location: About 3 miles South of City Center, which is easily accessible by public transportation, short ride share, or gutsy (slightly uphill) bicycle ride.
- Staff: Spectacular
- TV: Basic cable with some movie channels
- Cleanliness: Great
- Bed: Comfy womfy
- Fellow guest proximity: Close, but classic built (construction), noise cancelling CMU construction.
- Jet/Airport noise: Present but not obnoxious outside. Inside room is almost jet-noise free.
- Mass Transit noise/Access: None/5 minute walk to bus stop and maybe 15 minutes to downtown via bus.
- Riff Raff Noise/Presence: None that I observed.
- Homeless encampments in immediate area: None.
- Swimming pool: Outdoor heated, however, it was half full during my visit. Or half empty? Anyway, not working. In a state of disrepair.
- Breakfast: Separate
This place is my Vegas home away from home. Highly recommend if you don't want to be near the strip.
