✅ Huge shoutout to Bob at the breakfast - very friendly. Breakfast had plenty of options for a vegetarian
Now let's dive into the issues:
⚠️ Unavailability of bodywash/shampoo
⚠️ Lack of towels
⚠️ Inaccessibility of reception desk via in-room phone or via cell phone
⚠️ Noisy AC/heater unit
DETAILS:
⚠️ At the time of booking I clearly mentioned 2 adults, 2 kids. During check-in reception says there "should be" 4 towels, but make sure you insist on extra towels -- because room only had 2
⚠️ TUE (arrival)-We noticed empty body-wash/shampoo bottles but reception was unreachable from hotel phone/cell phone
⚠️ WED (morning), I physically went to reception desk & informed them. They told the housekeeping is not daily, but they'll make a note. They said it'd be done by evg
⚠️ WED (evg before going to room), my daughter went to reception (in rain) and they said bodywash/shampoo "should be replaced"
⚠️ WED (evg after going to room), again no bodywash/shampoo. Phones were of no use. I had to show them picture from phone of empty bottles to finally get replacement bottles
⚠️ The A/C heater unit was too noisy. It was 50s outside, so we had to keep it on
⚠️ The pictures do not represent the actual motel/hotel accurately. The restaurant is nice, but rooms have the motel feel
⚠️ 🚽 The toilet is placed awkwardly. Not enough room between wall & left foot
ℹ️ There is (Asian) Indian restaurant - but it does not get listed in Google when searching by cuisine. We ended up going elsewhere.
I've stayed at Best Westerns nationwide for decades (literally), and my collective experiences have been favorable overall. This visit, however, was a big disappointment.
The location was convenient. The grounds appeared well-maintained and attractive, although the weather was not conducive to outdoor pursuits during our one-night stay.
The room, however, was a different story. I'll list those issues in ascending order of significance.
The dresser was in rough shape (see photo). This was merely an aesthetic issue, as all the drawers functioned properly.
The refrigerator, although functional, had a loud rattle when the compressor was running, which disrupted our sleep. The heating unit was also rather noisy, even with the fan on low speed. I've read similar complaints about the heating/cooling unit in other recent reviews, so this problem was not unique to our room.
In the bathroom, the tub drain stopper was broken and unusable. I'm not sure why it was even still there as it was serving no useful purpose. Not an issue for showering, but meant the tub bath I was considering was out of the question.
It appeared there was some very recent work done to the hot water plumbing. We had to run the tub faucet continuously for 10 minutes+ to bleed enough air out of the pipes for sufficiently hot water for our showers.
Lastly, we found GREASY HEAD PRINTS on both the headboard of the bed (lighting wasn't right for a pic) and the back of the easy chair (see pic). My husband, who is normally more tolerant of these things than I am, wasted no time wiping the headboard clean with a soapy washcloth before we considered sitting or lying on the bed.
This hotel is in dire need of updates and repairs. Although we received an apology when we brought the issues to staff's attention at check-out, no offer of compensation (monetary or otherwise) was made. I'd have been more inclined to press this matter if I were not being reimbursed for my expenses.
Would we stay here again? No.
I forget how bad normal Best Westerns are. Unless it's a "Plus" or "Premier" skip it. This is just a normal very dated hotel. We ended up in a building that had stairs at each end with rooms and doors facing the parking lot. Shared balcony walkway you can be inundatedby people smoking in front of their rooms. It was loud with paper thin walls. The a/c-heat would kick on and vibrate and shake the wall. The room was so small and dated (remodeled at some point but this was lipstick on s pig). You can not be in the bathroom and close the door at the same time. There was a nice place to walk the dogs but because they don't provide bags for waste it was covered in dog waste. Wondering what my $40 pet fee went?. Amenities shown on the BW app showed pool and jacuzzi, pool was freezing cold with tree debris in the bottom and the jacuzzi was empty. Most hotels will update a note on the site/app stating which amenities were out of service but not this place. The parking lot was well lit so you could watch the local riff raff walk through. Tried to go to the restaurant but after waiting for almost 15 minutes trying to get someone to seat us in one of the dozen or so empty tables we gave up, the overwhelming smell of Curry helped with the decision to leave as well. This is not a hotel I could recommend. If this is your only choice the drive to Vegas and find a nicer place to stay for less money. So m
The worst best western I’ve lived
1. rooms are too close to each other so noise are consistent. Keep hearing ring tones, people talks, and door opening and closes.
2. house keeping is rude. keep knocking the door and disturbing our morning. She run into the room even though we said we don’t need house keeping.
3. appliance is old. For winter, it’s either too noisy to use AC, or it can be too cold with just a super thin duvet.
I have no idea how this motel can be rated over 4 stars. as far as i know, you cannot take a good rest here due to all the noises.
I would rate this place 0 stars if that were an option, but since Google doesn’t allow it, I’m giving 1 star. I honestly don’t understand how this hotel has a 4+ rating.
The service was really bad. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was because it advertised EV charging in the parking lot, but when I tried to charge my vehicle, it didn’t work. When I went to the front desk, I was told I had to pay $25 to charge my vehicle, which was never clearly mentioned beforehand. That’s very misleading.
The room itself was also a problem. The heater made an extremely loud noise, like a generator, whenever it was turned on. On top of that, every time someone in a nearby room used the water, the noise was very loud and disturbing.
The photos shown on the website are completely different from reality, which was another big disappointment. I’ve stayed at almost 10 different Best Western hotels, and this was by far the worst one.
To be fair, the breakfast was decent, but that’s the only positive thing I can say about this stay.
Overall, I do not recommend staying here at all.
