Mixed feelings about this hotel because the building and location are great but the management is poor.
There was construction most days I've been here, however the hotel didn't let me know about it until we got here, instead of at the point of booking. The rooms received a letter saying construction will start at 10am, however it started at 9am.
The only decent area to sit is at the bar and lounge on level 23, the first time I went there I was told I couldn't use it despite many other guests using it, as they where understaffed. So I went to my room to order room service, but there was nobody available for 30mins to answer the phone during the middle of the day.
Once I did make it to level 23 to use the lounge one night after a business dinner, we where promptly kicked out of the lounge by hotel security at 11pm, which is a unreal time to close the only sitting area in the hotel, in Vegas?
I was a big fan of the Mandarin Oriental and had never been back since it changed to a Waldorf Astoria. That was until New Years 2026. I was surprised and impressed at how well this hotel has transitioned into a Waldorf. The rooms, the service, the spa and everything else that goes with the hotel is amazing. It’s the best place to be on the strip without being on the strip. Non gaming and non smoking is key to this vegas experience. Add to that the location to access everything else that is Vegas makes it the perfect way to do vegas and have a retreat from all that.
The only downside was on our first day. We left our room for hours and hours and yet it wasn’t made up by housekeeping until we called multiple times and spent more time in the bar to let them access the room. We are talking 6pm. That was a bummer.
They quickly corrected that though and the service was flawless after that. I do believe they, like many other companies, are experiencing staffing issues which I totally understand. The fact that they corrected the problem and impressed me afterwards gained my five star review. Thank you. I can’t wait to visit again.
Note I sent to Hilton CEO:
Hi Chris:
For continuous improvement purposes, I would like to share my recent experience with the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Las Vegas.
Back in November, my wife and I had afternoon tea at the hotel only to be disappointed with the quality of food and average service. Specifically, the sandwiches were not fresh as the bread was quite hard. Our waitress, while friendly, just didn’t deliver 5 star level of service especially given the price we paid for our meal. Despite this disappointing experience, we wanted to experience the hotel more fully with a planned stay.
Fast forward last week where we stayed for 2 nights. Renata, front desk, effectively convinced us to upgrade to a suite which we paid $500 for. Fifteen minutes into our stay, a staff member from housekeeping walks into our suite without knocking. As we were standing in the living room, we would have heard her knock which she claims to have done. This, again, was not what 5 star service should look like.
In the evening, we asked for our Porsche so we can get to the Wynn for dinner and show only to find out that valet had lost the key to our car. This was shocking as its never happened to us before. I was very upset as we had to miss our dinner reservations. Manager on duty, Jeremy, went into action to try and sort things out but showed a lack of empathy for the frustration we were feeling. After I had a chance to calm down, I demanded to be compensated for our trouble which Jeremy agreed to. The key was found the next day.
During the second day of our stay, we had lunch at the hotel cafe and was shocked with the $32 French dip. Quality of the food was substandard and service was just average. Price was not justified given the mentioned.
In closing, we don’t mind paying for luxury, great food and 5 star service as we have traveled around the world where we know what great looks like. We have the highest status with Marriott but wanted to give Waldorf / Hilton a chance. Unfortunately, your Las Vegas location pretends to be a 5 star hotel but is offering 2 star service and food quality. It’s clear that the hotel is not being managed to its potential.
Thank you for listening. Wishing you and the Hilton team a great 2026.
Sincerely,

First the good, its looks very nice, the main hall and common areas are well kept and cleaned, needs some dusting.
The staff all have a smile and are professional in thier handling with customers in stressful situations on my observations. The grounds and hotel are SMOKE FREE ZONES.
For the not so good, security is minimal, its a feel good security using a elevator to the 3rd floor then having someone behind a pastry Cafe desk, (wich seemed to never have coffee ready and days old pastries on the counter) for you to pass them to another set of elevators to get to the rooms that use the room key to allow the elevator to select a floor , however it does not restrict the floor allowed to be selected, I observed only one person scan a key and multiple floors and people select floors to willy nilly go wherever.
Staff that smoke tend to in the middle of the drive and not in the one location that is clearly marked for the smoking area.
The rooms matinance could use attention, sloppy Caulking, sloppy paint (wrong sheen), clear water damage that has been just painted over and ignored to the root cause.
