I took my teen daughter to Vegas to see F1 and we stayed at the Waldorf Astoria to avoid smoke and casinos. The hotel and service was fine. We were sold in to upgrading to a suite we didn't need and they were like, oh but it's 1600 square feet and is usually $2000 a night, and your teen will have enough space for some privacy, only $300 more a night! My daughter smiled, I said yes, then when we got to the room she pointed out that it was an emotional sales tactic and her smile was at that and my falling for it! The problem is that the heat in the room was broken, we were freezing. The first night we thought it was due to a late check-in and the room needed time to warm up but when we got back from the races on the second night it was so freezing cold in there she had to sleep in her jacket and I used the robes as blankets to stay warm. We had the heat set to 85 and the room was 61. We mentioned it in the morning but got no reaction at the time. In addition the drapes were broken and didn't close enough to block out the lights off the strip. So very little sleep and what we got was poor quality. We would have been much happier to have had climate control and a dark room at night. When I later read reviews it seems they know this one was "broken" and we got upsold to a suite they couldn't rent anyway.

My stay so far has been good. Staff have been courteous and helpful. Jen at front desk I will cherish my birthday card and cake forever. I didn't give all 5s because the room is small even though it's a double. The water had to be turned off one night. The fridge is filled with stuff that is inflated in price and also other snack items in the room that are also over priced. There is a charge to have a microwave brought to your room. I keep getting turned around with elevator situation. Other than these things I am enjoying my stay.

A real disappointment with this experience… we had to be moved to three different rooms. The first one had a dirty sofa and broken lamps. The second had an electrical issue — whenever you touched anything metal, you’d get a small electric shock. The air-conditioning covers were missing from the ceiling, and you could see all the ducts full of dust. The sheets were dirty. In the third room, the ducts were still uncovered and the heating didn’t work. We both ended up catching a cold. Honestly, you don’t expect this kind of situation in a hotel like this. After complaining, the only thing we were offered was a $120 voucher to use at the bar. Quite disappointing.

Room:The room was wonderful, strip view, clean, bed was super comfortable, sheets were clean, optimal room temperature. Fully stocked mini bar, great bathroom products, amazing view! Service: I don’t think words can do it justice. Every single staff member we interacted with, from check in, to pool, to spa, to restaurant, cocktails, and tea was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was kind, smiling, welcoming. 100/100 staff. Location: It’s in a great spot! Right on the strip, it’s a quieter hotel which is what we wanted, calmer crowd which was perfect! We will most definitely be back, this was our best experience in Vegas, and we’ve been to the city countless times. Highly recommended!
