- DLDavid LNov 2, 20255.0Why stay in Vegas in an overpriced hotel with a mini fridge you cannot use, no microwave, a tiny closet (if you get one at all), no free breakfast, TONS of annoying gambly boomers, pickpockets everywhere, those annoying "in room purchase" items and their weight mats (don't knock 'em over unless you want to pay $20 for bottled tap water!)... Why stay anywhere on the strip, when this wonderful hotel is only 20ish minutes away from all that?! The staff here were excellent, rooms were just fine and very clean, it was quiet, Boulder City is super nice, the on-site restaurant was unbelievably good (highly recommend the Lemon Chicken Piccata!)... Overall, this hotel is a gem!

Hoover Dam about 15 min drive. Only downside are the thin walls. You can hear everything (kids in pool in building across parking lot and music being played outside all day/evening). Walkway outside rooms is textured (like flagstone), and when carts are going by, it’s extremely loud. Would stay here again.

So we expected the same level of service here — but unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. At check-in, we were greeted by a rude and unfriendly woman at the front desk. The check-in process took a very long time, even though we had a confirmed reservation. She didn’t explain anything properly — where breakfast was, where to park, or how to find our room — and didn’t even ask for our car information. When we entered the room, there was an awful smell — a mix of dampness, oldness, and something rotten, like someone had died there. I have an allergy to mold and musty odors, and it was very hard to breathe or sleep because of the smell. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. After our great experience at Best Western in Page, this hotel was a huge disappointment. I really hope the management pays attention to the service and room conditions because this level does not represent the Best Western brand.
