We were travelling with this another family last summer and had the worst experience ever!. What should have been a stressful-but-understandable travel disruption turned into an unnecessarily frustrating experience because of how the Holiday Inn Halifax Airport chose to treat their guests.
Our concerns could only be handled by Karen, the owner, and when we attempted to contact her, she avoided us and would not return our repeated requests for a return phone call.
When we finally connected with her by calling multiple times, she was not interested in any kind of resolution to maintain any kind of relationship. The situation was handled extremely poorly and it was very clear that the $$$ was more important than her customers.
We frequently travel with families and organized sports teams, including a hockey team returning to Halifax in the near future. Based on this experience alone, we will be avoiding this hotel entirely and will be advising others to do the same. A complete lack of empathy, poor leadership, and an obvious focus on profit over people made an already difficult travel day far worse. This is not how loyal or potential future guests should ever be treated.

I’ve stayed here before and enjoyed it. However, this was not the same experience. Front desk was not friendly. The breakfast staff were de shelved looking and not presentable in my opinion. We got off the room on the 3rd floor and there was an office with the door open ( propped open our entire stay) and it was a complete disaster ! Linens thrown everywhere, boxes, decorations, papers. I couldn’t believe someone worked out of it.
The beds were so high off the floor that the mattress was above my waist. There was a platform, then a box spring and then the mattress. Anyone with mobility issues, wouldn’t have been able to get up in it. The beds were so creaky and loud, you couldn’t help but disturb the person in the room with you if you rolled over. Sound proofing was non existent, as we could hear conversations in the rooms next to us.
A couple pros were breakfast was decent for continental and a good selection. Appreciated complimentary coffee in the lobby. The shuttle is convenient.

Great hotel. Really impressed. Clean room, clean building, good breakfast thats included. No complaints!
Just a bit of a weird drive from the airport in the dark and nothing close by within walking distance. That's more a planning thing -just know it's our of the way.

Not really sure what happened because I've stayed here multiple times before but EVERYTHING is either broken or filthy. The free coffee area, the rooms, the breakfast area (as soon as it opened!) All of it is just caked in filth. The lightbulbs are burnt out and flickering, the light switches are damaged, the usb charging ports are busted. I'm genuinely shocked.

I've parked at the Holiday Inn while traveling a number of times, and the rate of 50 dollars per week is genuinely great value. Drop-off for my trip went smoothly and the shuttle driver on departure was friendly and professional, which is why I've always felt comfortable using this service.
Unfortunately, the return experience was very different. When I arrived back in Halifax, the shuttle arrived about 20 minutes later than the stated pickup time. More concerning, the return driver was driving in a way that felt unsafe. The shuttle was speeding, rolling through stop signs, and taking corners so quickly that passengers were being tossed around in the back. We nearly had two close calls with other vehicles on the way. I reported this to the front desk as soon as we arrived, because I did not feel safe during that ride. The staff assured me they would address it with the driver, which I appreciated. I still felt it was important to leave this review so others are aware and so management understands how serious the safety concern was.
The parking price and convenience are excellent, and I've had good experiences here before. I just hope the driving standards are addressed so customers can feel confident using the service again.
