My son drank milk and it was spoiled and we ended up to the urgent care diagnosed with food poisoning from milk. Everything for breakfast was not fresh. The lady serves breakfast has disrespectful behavior. The night reception was extremely rude. I paid $180 and ended up at the ER

Clean, comfortable, and well designed
I had a very good stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Tucumcari. The rooms were extremely clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the pillows were normal (not overly firm or flat) and very nice. The bathroom counter was especially well designed, with plenty of space to set out toiletries, which is something I really appreciate. Water pressure was outstanding, and access to the hotel made it easy to get in and out without hassle.
Overall, it was a very comfortable and pleasant experience, and I would happily stay here again. The only minor downside was that the continental breakfast area seemed slightly understaffed, with one person trying to keep everything stocked and prepared. Even so, it didn’t detract much from an otherwise great stay.
Highly recommend if you’re passing through Tucumcari.

Amicable, professional staff (especially the gentleman who usually works the evening shift). Easy to navigate floor plan. Fitness center is spacious and has both cardio equipment and free weights.
Guest laundry takes quarters. The free breakfast is satisfactory.
Overall location is easily accessible from I40.

I took my small children in to use the restroom real quick because they are small and can't hold it too long. The guy at the front desk wouldn't allow it. He said the bathrooms are locked. So, just a heads up. If you are staying there you'll have to use the restrooms in your room because apparently the staff can't unlock the restrooms on the 1st floor.

We paid $160 for a Double Queen room, which was one of the most expensive in town. When we arrived, the receptionist was not friendly and seemed annoyed. Our room was exceptionally dirty with stains on the walls, a broken shower drain, and the A/C was gross. The La Quinta next door seemed much nicer. We are accustomed to clean and comfortable stays at Holiday Inn Express, but the one in Tucumcari needs a serious renovation (some of the exterior lights were out, button in elevator broken) and rooms need cleaning. The only positive thing was that the bed was comfortable but the cleanliness of the sheets was questionable.
