Just don’t. We are fine with older properties if they are clean and well maintained. This one is neither. We had driven too long and were exhausted so we took a chance on it despite all the negative reviews. When we opened the door to the room we were greeted with an overwhelming smell of sewer gases. Never again. Unfortunately the reviews are pretty bad for all of the hotels in Santa Rosa. We travel this route frequently but we will be sure to avoid this town .

The breakfast is the best I've had at a Hampton in years. The staff friendly. But the rooms are bad. The walls are flimsy and you can hear you neighbors. I was on the 3rd floor and could easily hear traffic on the interstate. The A/C had been disconnected from the wall thermostat and relied on the one built into the window unit. Worst of all was the poor housekeeping. There was dirt and insect droppings in the drawers of the dresser. I found a speck of dirt on the sheets when I pulled back the covers to get into bed. I found a piece of dental floss in the waste basket in the bathroom. When I took my dog out to do her business, there was only gravel, not even a piece of astroturf, something the nearby Best Western provided. On top of that this Hampton charges $75 for their pet fee when others only charge $50. The Best Western may be old, but was super clean, less expensive, had quieter rooms, and better dog facilities, and I'd recommend it over this Hampton.

Carlos "Marc" Castillo is a real problem. He is rude, arrogant and derogatory. He works the front desk and claims to be a manager and to run the place. He refused to give contact information for anyone else to file a complaint. Not to mention he added a mystery $13 charge because we complained... and said he was making a price correction. He is a thief, and not sure how he is employed with work ethics like that. This is not over, will be filing a complaint with BBB and any other regulatory bodies I can as he needs to be investigated. Do NOT stay here people, I am saving you, trust me.

Alas, it was sold out. Serves me for not booking in advance but then I didn't expect to be caught in unusually bad traffic in Albuquerque. (Thanks to unclear directions, I spent an hour wandering before managing back to the I-40.)

Weary from 16 hours of driving, we stopped at this Hampton Inn. The manager - the only staff on duty when we checked in - was kind and accommodating. The room, however, wasn't as pleasant. There were hairs on the sheets and pillow, the caulk jobs in the bathroom look like Stevie Wonder did it, and the carpet was clearly not vacuumed before our stay. This room, despite the two queen beds, was definitely not worth the over $140 we paid for it. In hindsight, we should have gone to the Holiday Inn Express right down the road and spent less for an equal or greater experience.
