To say this was a pretty bad stay is an understatement.
I arrived with my kids and husband around 6pm. We were staying the night to head back to our home in Texas. The hotel itself looks very clean and the service was alright.
However, the room was atrocious. I digitally checked into my room the day before. Never got my digital key even after I checked in. Upon arrival, I inquired about my digital key and the answer i was given, "it hasn't been working for a while." Uh okay, not that big of a deal so I let this go. After check in went to grab a tea but no coffee or tea in the lobby. We asked about this as well and the front desk clerk said the hot water supply was "broken for months." Strange? Okay fine, let this go too as I can just easily make it in my room. However, wondered in the back of my mind how coffee would be at breakfast tomorrow..
We arrived to our room and upon entry, the entire room smelled moldy. I opened the bathroom door and most of the smell was coming from the bathroom. However, I sprayed something and let this go. Already three incidents in my stay just arriving but its one night, not that big of a deal. Quickly got my kids ready for the pool as they were ready after long day of driving. Although the pool was great, you could only spend 10 min in there. First, the door to get into the pool is very tricky and the lock isnt working properly. Then when you finally get in, its like a sauna. The AC in the indoor pool room is broken and its incredibly hot. I even got a temperature alert on my phone! Had to rush the kids as I seriously thought I would have a heat stroke. Finally got back to the room and started to set up the sofa bed for my tired kids. When I opened the sofa bed? Disgusted. Burnt popcorn crumbs, Bobby hair pins, other food crumbs I could not identify, and hair ALL OVER the bed. The sheets on the sofa pullout were ripped and stained as well. I cleaned it as best as I could but, after seeing this? I started to walk the room as I was nervous what else housekeeping missed. The amount of broken or dirty items in my room was outstanding. Door trim falling apart, shower handle hard to turn, shower door off the track, caulking in shower stained with rust, towels stained, no conditioner in shower, no hand soap or lotion by the sink, shampoo tamper seal on bracket broken/open, AC cover temperature plate broken off, bathroom door closing on its own, and our keys deactivated multiple times. I felt very uncomfortable but due to it being only one night and my kids were tired, we toughed it out. We went to bed hoping for a good breakfast tomorrow.
You guessed it though, breakfast was very limited and poor. One waffle iron shoved in a tiny corner, hard bagels, empty yogurt station, and no breakfast sandwich station. Where is the new Breakfast Sandwich station? This is at every Home2 we have stayed at, so why not here? Only highlight of breakfast was the coffee. Which it seems the hot water supply started working magically again?
Overall, this was a bad stay and im very disappointed. We love Home2 but will steer clear from this location as management is severely lacking. I would like a follow up from management and my points back.
