We arrived late, so we weren’t able to enjoy the pool, hot tub, or exercise room, but the check-in attendant was very friendly and had a great personality, which was appreciated after a long day of travel.
When we got to our original room, it was extremely hot. The heater had been set to 76 degrees, and even though it was cold outside, the room itself was uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was completely broken. This was especially concerning because my husband has asthma and heat aggravates it.
I went to the front desk, and a staff member came to the room and genuinely tried everything she could to fix the issue. When it couldn’t be resolved, they upgraded us to a suite that was about double the size of the original room, which we truly appreciated.
The upgraded room had two queen beds, a pull-out couch (which my son was very excited about), and a desk area that my husband was able to use for work. Extra pillows and a comforter were also provided as requested. While the AC in the upgraded room also didn’t work, the temperature at least stayed around 71 degrees, which made it more manageable.
The staff member who helped us, I believe her name was Rosie, was incredibly sweet, attentive, and truly tried her hardest to make us comfortable. Her kindness stood out and made a stressful situation much easier.
Breakfast was okay. Nothing special, but decent. There were no non-pork protein options, so I stuck with eggs and toast, but I did love that they offered green chilies.
Despite the heat issues, the staff alone made this a positive stay. I would recommend better floor cleaning, but otherwise the room and hotel were clean, and the service made the difference.
