We went to St. John’s because of an ultrasound appointment for our baby, and we found a great deal for this hotel. I was impressed with the $10 deal for breakfast with East Side Mario’s, and overall my stay was pretty good but I was in room #408 and the left side of the window was full of condensation and sweat. It appears the window was previously broken and the second window pane was missing, causing a bad draft going through our room and something on the right side of the hotel room door to bang loud on the walls every time the wind picked up. We went to walk out onto the deck and my fiancé opened the door, and it cut his finger a little. There was all the smashed glass left from the previously broken window left where the window was. I didn’t think that was very safe. We weren’t offered an apology, a free breakfast, or a new room because of it. The towel rack ontop of the toilet on the left side was beginning to start hanging off of the wall almost like someone used it as a crutch to get off of the toilet. The elevator was also working off and on, we would click the 4th button and it would take us to the first floor where laundry/ pool etc was. Over all it is a beautiful hotel but I truly didn’t appreciate seeing my fiancé cut himself because of left over smashed glass. We mentioned it and a lovely gentleman came up and cleaned it right away, but still I think because of him cutting his finger on hidden behind the curtain glass, we should have been at least given an apology, or a room change.

Listen, it’s just a simple 3 Stars hotel as the name carries its reputation and class. I just don’t get how people give beyond or expect more?

The location is fantastic. The hotel was safe and the rooms seem to have been recently updated. There is a restaurant on site for lunch and dinner. I respect Holiday Inn for always offering pet friendly rooms. At this location one reserves a "pet friendly, ground floor" room. However, the walk-outs on all ground floor rooms are sealed shut and one has to take the elevator or stairs to the first floor to enter or leave the hotel. Not ideal for a pet owner expecting a walk in/walk out. During my stay, the pet friendly floor was shared with a lot of long stay families and the kids used the hall as a playground. It was noisy during the days and evenings. Yes, I could have changed floors. Overall my experience was okay. Attached is a pic of my room after I stayed in it. Housekeeping was very good.
