Extremely disappointing. Room was dirty - including hair in shower when I checked in. Was charged for parking despite reserving the shuttle when I checked in and clearly stating I did not drive. No one at front desk to check out, no receipt issued - had to follow up 3 times and till have not received the receipt or the refund.

UPDATE: After speaking with the hotel, they responded quickly and resolved the issue without hesitation. Mistakes can happen to anyone at work, but my experience at the Hampton Inn was defined by how promptly and professionally the problem was handled. For that reason, I’m happy to update this with a positive 5-star review. Happy new year! To be clear, this one-star review is not a reflection of the hotel’s service. The room was clean, tidy, and the staff were genuinely kind and professional. However, upon checking out, I noticed I had been charged for two nights despite staying only one. The front desk explained that one of the charges was a deposit hold, but that hold had already been taken earlier. At the time of checkout, there were three charges showing on my card. Several days later, all transactions have now posted. The deposit has disappeared, but the additional night’s charge remains — confirming that I was indeed charged twice. As I am not based in the US, I’ve had difficulty contacting the hotel directly, and despite speaking with my bank, the issue remains unresolved. I am now left unsure how to recover the several hundred dollars I was overcharged

I guess I just don’t like being taken advantage of. Due to a delayed flight, we missed our connection at Newark Liberty and I had to find a hotel. I was directed to this Hampton Inn which recognized our plight and offered us a room for 3 times the usual price. Not the sort of cut-throat capitalism I wanted. So beware of that, and beware, too, of their shuttle. It only ran every 30 minutes in spite of a large crowd needing to get to the hotel (it was midnight) and the hotel being only a mile or less away. I can say this in the hotel’s behalf: the guy working the desk was friendly and working hard. Corporate? Nothing good to say about them or their brand.

My stay at the Hampton Inn Newark on December 14–15 was extremely disappointing. The room was dirty and poorly maintained, making it feel unsanitary and uncomfortable from the moment I checked in. Housekeeping clearly did not do their job. The service throughout the hotel was just as bad. Staff were unhelpful and uninterested in addressing concerns. The breakfast was especially awful—low quality, poorly prepared, and honestly disgusting. To make matters worse, the managers Mina and Vijay were rude and dismissive. They showed no respect and made it very clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority. Instead of resolving issues, they brushed them off entirely. Overall, this was a frustrating and unpleasant experience. I would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.

I had an awful stay at the Hampton Inn Newark from December 14–15. The rooms were gross and clearly not cleaned properly, which made the entire experience extremely uncomfortable. On top of that, the service was terrible from start to finish. The breakfast was absolutely disgusting—poor quality, unappetizing, and not what you’d expect from a hotel like this. When issues were brought up, they were either ignored or handled poorly. The managers, Mina and Vijay, were completely disrespectful and showed zero concern for client satisfaction. Instead of trying to resolve problems, they were dismissive and unprofessional. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, and I would not recommend staying here to anyone.
