The nosiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Next to a major highway and minimal sound proofing so every siren is in your room. Outside my window there was a loose paneling so when it rained it was slapping beneath the window. Someone had definitely smoked cigarettes in room so the smell was awful. Super modern hotel, super unfortunate other features.

BED BUGS AND NO REFUND! My family arrived on 11/11/25 at the hotel at 12:30 am, simply exhausted. Our flights from Boston were cancelled the previous 2 days and we decided to drive from Boston to the Tampa area. We paid for 2 rooms and were in the room no longer than 5 minutes when my son pulled back the sheets in his room and there it was, a huge bed bug on the pillow. I’m an ER nurse and know a bed bug when I see a bed bug, because we have to isolate any patient that arrives to the ER with them. I collected the bed bug and brought it to the front desk in a cup and requested a refund, which I initially thought would not be a problem, boy was I wrong! The desk attendant said he couldn’t issue a refund, any refund would need to be issued the next day by a manager. After multiple calls to the manager he said upon inspection of the room, there were no bed bugs found in the room, what about the cup?? I have pictures of the bed bugs found on the pillow, upload the picture in ChatGPT and view the results, it’s a bed bug. For many years I was a loyal consumer of Holiday Inn Express that ended on 11/11/25 and it’s not because of the bed bug, I get it, bed bugs happen! But, I will no longer stay at a Holiday Inn Express due to the lack of customer service that followed finding the bed bug. I waited several days to post my review to give Holiday Inn Express a chance to make things right, but they didn’t. A better solution would be to simply issue a refund, but that didn’t happen. Unless you’re an entomologist and enjoy bugs, I would not recommend staying here.

***BED BUGS*** Looked for somewhere to sleep for a few hours around midnight in the middle of the roadtrip. Usually have good experiences with holiday inn expresses but this was terrible. We had to call a number to get someone to open the front door after hours, got someone in a decent amount of time. We got 2 rooms for 4 of us, check in and headed up to the 3rd floor. We were in the room for just enough time to put our bags down, use the bathroom, and pull the sheets back. We laid in the bed and immediately jumped right back out as a BED BUG was laying on our pillow. We work in healthcare and know how detrimental it is to be exposed to these. In a matter of minutes we noticed 2 other bugs crawling on the walls. We got our stuff and went to the desk. The same gentleman was at the desk and then told us he couldn’t do anything until the manager showed up in the morning. We had photos and physical proof of the bed bug and we couldn’t get a refund. Spoke to the manager this morning who said he couldn’t give me an answer until 2 days later as they wait for pest control and an inspection to be completed. We only get a refund if the pest control inspection of both rooms shows signs of bed bugs. We were completely inconvenienced, had to get back on the road after being ready to sleep, had to find and pay for a new hotel room, and worry about bed bug exposure and no compensation guaranteed. This refund should not be a maybe situation. Hoping to get a refund but even then, this has been a terrible experience. Do not stay here. UPDATE: Management has now failed to reach out. Only gave the pest control report in the form of a comment under this review rather than reaching out to me like he said he would. I have been extremely kind and patient throughout this situation. I have called once yesterday and twice today to follow up on the situation and now the hotel is no longer answering my calls and the manager keeps giving false promises of reaching out and never does, and is now ignoring my calls. Had to escalate this case to corporate. All I want is a refund for my stay as I was completely inconvenienced. This is being treated as if my bad experience has no matter because their pest control report was clear. At the end of the day, there was a bed bug in our bed and bugs on the wall. If this manager stayed at a hotel and had bed bugs in his bed, he would also leave and want a refund as well. This is sad.

i’m a bit of a snob, so I was very skeptical about a lower-star hotel in a place with iffy reviews that's 50% truck stops, but it's so convenient for road trips that I had to try it. and I was SO pleasantly surprised!!! the property seems it was renovated in the last few years, and our room was clean (what I was most worried about) and modern. parking was easy, check-in was smooth, and the breakfast wasn't 5-star but it was perfectly adequate for a quick bite before getting back on the road. the place was quiet on a Saturday night - I assume it's all travelers stopping on road trips bc there's not much to eat or do nearby and I probably wouldn't walk around anyway (lots of busy roads and not-so-glamorous truck stops). but this is perfect for what it is - a clean, cheap, secure place to rest that's 1 minute off the turnpike. hopefully this review helps reassure any other snobs debating it they should stay here. we'll be staying here any time we need a break heading up the I-95 corridor.
