I booked this hotel for my daughter’s cheer competition and had a very disappointing experience overall.
The front desk staff were friendly and check-in was quick, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the stay.
The rooms do not match the photos online. The first room was not cleaned properly — it smelled like smoke, the carpet wasn’t vacuumed, the toilet and refrigerator were dirty, and the bed sank badly when sat on. We were moved to a second room, but were left with only two towels and one washcloth. When I called for more, I was told they were out of washcloths and that I would need to come downstairs myself to get additional towels.
Parking was $25 per day in the hotel lot despite ample and cheaper street parking nearby. The TV did not work and although I was told someone would come fix it at 10pm, no one ever showed up.
The advertised breakfast “buffet” was misleading. It was more like a very limited continental breakfast with dry, rubbery pre-cooked sausage patties and eggs and very few options.
The most serious issue happened the morning of my daughter’s competition. She slipped and fell on the first floor because the floor was being mopped with NO wet floor signs posted. While staff apologized, she was hurt, shaken, and had to compete less than an hour later.
To make things worse, only one ice machine in the entire hotel was working, requiring us to go floor to floor late at night to find ice.
Between cleanliness issues, poor follow-through, misleading amenities, and a serious safety concern, this stay was not worth the price. I would not recommend this hotel, especially for families or anyone traveling for competitions. I honestly don’t think I will book with another Best Western.

The room smelled like mildew and the A/C was completely off, leaving the temperature well over what seemed like 100 degrees. I was then told that all rooms were hot because the hotel does not run the A/C and lets the sun heat them throughout the day. After long flights, trade shows, and needing an actual place to rest, the room was clearly not suitable for me to wait in the heat.
For a hotel with a 3.7 Google review rating, already a sign of inconsistent guest experiences, you still expect the basics to be acceptable. Instead, I had to leave without ever being able to stay.
Despite this, the hotel refused to offer a refund or even a credit, anything... and even after contacting Best Western corporate, the property still chose to keep the full payment. Policies are one thing, but when the room cannot be used, refusing to address the issue demonstrates extremely poor customer service. It is also very disappointing to see both the hotel and the corporate office unwilling to stand behind their brand.
So here is your one-star review, though I am sure they still do not care.

The Physical condtion of the room and building was 5.0 and the service was friendly and helpful. The desk clerk exlpained how the bus service worked. They gave me a discount on the paid parking. but.......1) Housekeeping did not properly stock the bathroom. There were no facecloths or hand towels, and only 2 bath towels that were old and rough as well as being small in size, and they left the TP low with no spare roll. I got supplies at the front desk. 2) The paid parking. $25.00 for what? There is no customer benefit to the paid parking. No security. No valet. Money grab only by the franchisee because the larger resorts in town charge for parking. Now that rest.. The breakfast was good and fairly comprehensive but not as complete as some other hotels at the same price level. If they are going to have a 2 remote system for the TV, they need to make sure the settings are correct. I had to go into TV settings and move an HDMI cord before I could use the Xfinity cable channels. This is a rough area of town even though it is only a block from the boardwalk.

I was surprised when I checked in and was told there was a nightly $25 parking fee. The Check-In staff were apologetic and reduced it to $20. The room was clean and comfortable, although I wish they had daily housekeeping. Breakfast had lots of choices. Location isn't great. It's only a few blocks from the boardwalk, which is nice, but there is a 7-11 across the street from the hotel with too many vagrants hanging out at all hours of the day and night. Panhandlers were constantly following me, asking for money.
No hot water the towels were dirty the rugs looks horrible smells bad the lamps have stains everywhere smelled like weed the sheets and pillow weren’t comfortable at all I couldn’t sleep thank God it was just for a quick night everything was so dirty they need to replace redue the whole room new everything paint and all it’s disgusting the area is bad I wouldn’t recommend anyone coming here unless it’s a quick in and out
Been saying yall gonna fix up the hotel for years now it looks like the department of health needs it to be shut down
