My family and I recently spent two nights at the new Hotel Indigo North Conway. As the property is newly opened, we were excited to check out this hotel. The Highlights: The common spaces are beautifully designed and very welcoming. My kids loved the complimentary hot chocolate in the lobby. The location is excellent, perfectly situated for ski access in the winter and ideally located for summer activities. The breakfast, while simple, was solid, and the views from the dining area are a fantastic way to start the day. The service throughout our stay was friendly and helpful. Areas for Improvement: Unfortunately, the room design and climate control had some issues: Climate Control: The in-room heater was a major issue. It was so loud and mostly blowing cold air, despite being set to heat. Adjusting the fan settings had no effect. It was impossible to sleep with it running, so we had to turn it off entirely, leaving us quite cold at night. Mention this to to front desk, but I don't think they cared much. Storage: The closet is ridiculously small. When traveling as a family of four with heavy winter gear, there is nowhere to hang jackets. Security: Surprisingly, there was no safe in our room, which is a significant oversight for a hotel. Pool: The pool area is visually nice, but the water temperature was unfortunately too cold for us to enjoy — even the kids found it too chilly for a swim.

I’m reviewing our experience at the viewpoint bar and restaurant, not the hotel. There is no separate Google listing for the restaurant. Save your time and money don’t use the restaurant. Untrained server. Service was terrible as she seemingly avoided attending to our needs for another drink or issue with our burgers not cooked to requested temperatures. Drink menu described wine choices that were not available. We had to clear our own table when done waiting for coffee. Server asked if want cream but she never returned with it.

When you walk in it’s a wow factor with the view and the rooms are spacious. Unfortunately, we ran into several issues. The first being that I paid for a Mt. Washington view and the woman at the front told me I had a Mt. Cranmore view. She was so convincing, I believed her for a second. Then looked back at my reservation and sure enough it was Mt. Washington. When I showed her she didn’t apologize or say anything other than well I don’t have that room available. I booked the reservation 2 months in advance. After some light back and forth, she magically found a room. Lo and behold the toilet was broken which we found out after getting settled in. It took hours to flush so you push the handle down and it fills up with water and then slowly flushes over hours. The AC/heat made a terrible wind tunnel bass sound. The fireplace in the lobby rattles so while you’re sitting there trying to enjoy it, it’s rattling like crazy. There are no microwaves in the rooms, or available to use in the lobby. The hotel fell short. Mostly it’s the woman at the front desk that really started things off on a bad foot and then it just kept rolling. For $350 for a night, you’d expect better.

Stayed here over Valentines weekend..... Was pretty disappointed with the entire food experience. For breakfast we were under the impression that we could order from the menu which is posted on the web-site. However It was a buffet and most of the hot food was just plain cold. No syrup for pancakes either. No microwaves to heat up food. And their fancy coffee machine was broken so couldn't get coffee without hitting up and paying for breakfast.... Next up was dinner. We were turned away from dinner at 7 ish PM (we had reservations) because the kitchen had abruptly closed due to the chef quitting. They did not seem to be properly staffed for the holiday. No other food options were made available. We requested to be contacted from the hotel but they have failed to reach out. We had to order Dominos, which took another 90 minutes. Clearly the grand opening didn't go well. Didn't even try breakfast the following morning.. just left. Did not expect this at this location. EDIT: To the manager, if my feedback is in fact "invaluable" why did the hotel never reach out to make this right? I will never step food in this establishment again.

Beware of this hotel. I am sorry to have to write such a negative review, but the management has given me no other option. The hotel is lovely and modern. We didn't have as much time to explore it as we would have liked to, but it is a special spot for the area. We booked a Mt. Washington view room for three nights while we were closing on our home. The views of Mt. Washington from 2nd floor were very nice and probably even better from third floor. The 3rd floor restaurant had lovely views and the breakfast was excellent, however, the waitstaff needs more training. We were unable to visit the 4th floor restaurant as we were too busy until late each night of our stay. My biggest warning is safety in your room for your belongings and valuables. I had an item(s) stolen from a bag. We checked out Fri at 10am on a long weekend and I was called by Alex, front desk manager, on Sun at 12:45pm. She informed me they had just located one of my bags "that I must have left". I was told that our passports and other items were inside. I was surprised because my husband always performs a sweeping check of hotel rooms before we check out and this was no small bag. She stated the room had not been cleaned or occupied since we vacated, which seemed very odd on such a busy weekend. What hotel doesn't clean a room day of checkout? I informed Alex that we were in the car driving to Florida and already in North Carolina. She said they would not ship the bag even if I paid for it and I had to have someone pick it up. I then commented to Alex that we were surprised they performed room servicing ( housekeeping) as we were not told that during check-in. We would have respectfully declined, or placed a do not disturb sign on the door handle as we had important items and valuables in the room that we could not leave in our car. Our room had been "serviced" the second day which we discovered when we got back to the room at 1am after a day trip to Boston and then to our home preparing it for the new owners. She said they "try to offer room service when it is slower". I arranged for a respected local business woman/friend, to pick it up that day. She was asked to show ID at the desk, which I appreciated. When my friend got the bag to her home, I asked her to check the contents. There was no "passport" that Alex stated. I called and spoke with Alex again and told her no passport was inside, and maybe someone was smart enough to put it in the hotel safety box. She seemed frazzeled, could not explain where the bag was found in the room, who looked in it to determine a "passport" was inside and they said "they didn't want to open it". That made no sense as they clearly looked inside based on her first conversation with me. She then said it was not a "passport" but a "social security card and identification". I told her I would like to speak with the hotel manager. She said they would have to view security footage which I welcomed. I then had my friend photograph the contents of the bag. So far, I have determined a size small, $150 Nordstrom ivory cardigan with tags on it was stolen. The exact same new ivory cardigan in size medium was not stolen. When I arrived in Florida, I found our passports so that was not accurate. It is now Wed, and I have called 7 times since the original report and begged Jason Skinner to return my call and stated it was urgent that I speak with him. No attempt from Jason has been made. When I call and press 0 for front desk option, no one will answer the phone. They have phone number identification of guests. This is absolutely crazy behavior from such a prestigious organization as IHG. They should be very concerned about how this beautiful location is being run. It is certainly not focused on guest relations at all. I hoped to contact IHG directly, but unable to find a US phone number. So, this is a long review, but hope it helps others understand they should have some hestiation in booking at Indigo North Conway. What we hoped would be the luxury hotel experience for our last nights living in the Valley, has been a nightmare.
