I arrived at 4pm after 5 hours of driving only to find the hotel fenced off. A note was posted saying they had a fire. I had received no prior notice about their closure. I broke into a panic and called corporate. The girl told me that it could be fixed by march of next year, its august now and i have no plans to wait that long. I paid in advance. I got aggravated with the call and said my priority right now is to find another place to go unless I want to drive another 5 hours back home. Im not holding my breath two weeks to get my money back. Please be considerate and let people know were CLOSED and your canceling my reservation!

if i could leave 0 stars i 100000% would. first of all, let’s start off with what the hell happened. side note, especially if you are traveling from out of the country DO NOT book with holiday inn at all as a whole at this point. the customer service is insane, my mom had booked about a week ago a two day trip for me and her. she booked it through what she thought was the IHG website. low and behold it ended up being a scam, thing is though, nobody would have thought at all that it was a scam. Day of (08/20/25) we get an email around 3pm saying they were ready for our arrival. we drive 2 HOURS, all the way up here, we pull in and the entire parking lot is caution taped, at first confused. we drive up to this small piece of paper saying “HOTEL CLOSED DUE TO FIRE, CONTAINING GUESTS AS WE CAN”, this fire happened 8 DAYS AGO, and NOBODY had contacted us AT ALL. nobody was there at all, my mom panicked because that is now over 400 DOLLARS. She calls, nobody answers. again 8 DAYS, there were 8 DAYS to contact us. my mom calls the IHG guest service line, this “customer service” picks up the phone, she was okay at first, my mom explains the situation to her. the guest service person basically tells my mom that she reserved the room through a “third party” (aka scam). this “third party” was the same exact address link as the holiday inn in north conway, my mom clicked website when she went to book the room, it somehow ended up taking her to this “third party” that was copied exactly like their site. the girl on the phone was completely rude about it, she was not offering any assistance other than just “giving the number for the third party”. my question is for one, if you guys are able to see that people are purchasing through these sites and still getting the res on your end, why the hell are you not contacting guests to let them know they are being scammed?? for two, her excuse for why we were not notified the hotel CAUGHT ON FIRE, was because we booked third party, again, YOU SAW THE RES, WHY WERE WE NOT CONTACTED???? that is beyond bizarre to me, this all seems suspicious and illegal and wouldn’t be surprised if these people were up to that kind of activity. This morning, my mom had to contact them again, because the number the other “customer service worker” gave her, WAS NOT WORKING. so the “third party” number the girl gave my mom DID NOT EVEN WORK! my mom had to go back-and-forth with this other now random customer service man that basically did the same thing, she ended up having to call the bank and file for a dispute, and hopefully that goes through. this is ridiculous. Imagine if we were Canadian tourist that weren’t able to speak english, and they just arrive to THIS, this is entirely unacceptable, especially in an area where you know that families that come from all different kinds of places are coming to visit. not to mention, we ended up taking our buisness to the Hilton, which is much better by the way. Ended up driving by the atrocity, low and behold someone from MAINE drove down, clearly not informed either, probably bought through the “third party”, having to go deal with the same exact problem. not only did you almost screw my mom out of almost $500 but then clearly other people as well. you people need to hire some kind of cyber security or whatever, if you have all the money to just not work for the next eight days because of a bushfire OUTISDE then maybe you should invest in the money to have someone make sure that your customers aren’t getting scammed maybe then you’ll have higher reviews and not be a two star hotel.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! As an IHG member I am extremely disappointed! The room was in such bad condition. Upon entering the room we were hit with a musky odor, which clearly reveals poor ventilation. There were water stains in many different spots of the room. The lamp shades were in such bad condition, I couldn't believe it, that is such an easy fix! Some of the lamp bulbs were not working, the bathroom light flickered on and off, and when it did, the flickering lasted for at least 20 minutes. The window curtain were in really bad condition. The room phone also didn't work. Overall the room needed a major renovation. The staff was pleasant, especially the breakfast staff. I have sent several emails to the hotel and I have not received a call or email back. I also reached out to IHG and I have not heard back from them neither. I usually don't leave reviews on GOOGLE, but this has me so disappointed that I had to. I wonder why they are "temporary closed". Either way, my emails were sent out when they were still open and as an IHG member this is not acceptable.

We want to thank all the staff for all they did to help us after the brush fire! They did everything in their power to get us a new hotel to stay at, got us water, and a ride to the new hotel. We truly appreciate all of you and thank you for all you have done for us! This is an amazing hotel and community that all worked together to help each other!

AVOID THIS HOTEL; they don’t know what they’re doing or how to properly take care of customers. (And you’ll see their response below is nothing but boilerplate corporate speak 🙄). I Had a very frustrating check in experience here recently that has led me to vow never to return to this property. After waiting 10 mins even to be helped, the front desk staff tells me “your room type is not available”.. which is never what you want to hear after driving for hours. When I expressed surprise and frustration she said “don’t overthink it”, **as if it was wrong of me to be concerned**. It then took 30 additional minutes to even get me to a room, and the key did not open that room so I had to go back down to the desk with all my bags and have them fix that. A Better approach in this case , is for the front desk to quickly and clearly tell the customer “there is confusion with your room but we will sort this out and get it fixed quickly.” **Avoid** this property, they really reflect poorly on IHG/Holiday inn brand
