We travel almost every weekend to ski at mountains across New England with our 6-year-old daughter. During our stay at Loon, she suddenly became very sick with a high fever after a full day of skiing.
I went to the front desk simply to borrow a thermometer so we could check her temperature and contact a doctor for a virtual visit. The staff refused and told me to bring my sick child downstairs instead. She was extremely weak and unable to walk that far, and I could not leave her alone in the room to go buy one.
For a family-oriented resort, the complete lack of basic compassion and flexibility in a medical situation involving a sick child was very disappointing.

I’m in tears on the phone with the manager of this hotel because I was told by a seasonal hire some misinformation regarding the relationship with the mountain and the resort.
I’m out $360, which is far outside of my budget, and the hotel won’t honor the fact that they screwed up. I work in customer service and I would never have treated a customer the way I was treated. The manager at the front desk told me that one of her hires “never would have said” what I was told. I felt totally gaslit to the point of crying (which is embarrassing) and she had no sympathy.

Psuedonym. Not what I expected. Wife was disappointed we couldn't use the gondola to see the view, they said we had to bring skiis up for safety reasons? Turned us away. It was actually one of the main reasons we came up. Never had that issue before, but I hadn't ever actually booked a room here before either. Spa was entirely booked, can't get a massage, another thing we've looked forward to. We drove to north conway, and when we returned the heat was out on our floor... during subzero temps outside.

Fantastic place. My first time at a ski in and out resort. The restaurant had great cheeseburgers and the hotel hospitality was excellent. My wife enjoyed her massage, and I swam in the pool for hours with the kids when it was -6 outside. We will be booking again for sure!

Fantastic ski on and ski off resort, reasonable accommodations for the price, this was our second year coming and I think it will become a permanent tradition!
