  During our stay at Best Western Plus Midwest Inn in Omaha we experienced two very concerning situations related to guest safety and property. First, during check-in we were initially given a room that was already occupied by another guest. We opened the door and found people already staying there. This immediately raised concerns about how room assignments are handled and about guest privacy and security. Second, after we checked out we realized that an iPad had accidentally been left in our room. When we tracked the device using Apple Find My, it showed that the iPad was still at the hotel. We called the front desk and asked them to check the room. During that same time, the device suddenly began moving and traveled to a residential address where it has remained ever since. We reported the situation to the hotel and filed a police report. Despite the location data showing that the device left the hotel shortly after housekeeping service, the hotel stated that nothing was found. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend being extremely careful with personal belongings if you stay at this hotel. If you accidentally leave something valuable in the room, it may be very difficult to recover it. For us, this experience raised serious concerns about guest safety and how situations involving guest property are handled.

  For starters, I stay here quite a bit however, I never had an experience like the one I just had. Within the first hour of being there, I had a lady yelling in my face because she was frustrated but really drunk in the pool area as I’m letting her know it’s cold in here as she proceeds to tell me there hasn’t been a problem in this pool area for four days that she’s been there and it’s just my family making a problem. Come to find out the heat wasn’t on in the pool area and there was open containers in the pool area that was made for kids. It’s supposed to be a kid friendly pool continue on later that night I had rented a king room with a pullout bed. I go to pull out the sofa bed and the linens on there had not been changed from the last person that stayed there that’s gross, but I let it go. fast forward to the next day. Me and my family decide to go out and enjoy some time with our kids come back, We’re not able to get into our room because the battery on the door is locked so we had to wait 30 minutes for maintenance as I have a 10 month old, a four-year-old a five-year-old and an eight-year-old in the lobby waiting. After we get in everything seems fine no worries now it’s about 3:30 AM in the morning and this is April 6 at this point and I’m itching and I get up and I get my flashlight. I’m looking, I’m looking, I’m looking, I’m like oh I know I’m not gonna find anything and I just keep looking. I found a bedbug and I take it to the front desk and I’m infuriated because it’s been one thing after another And the only thing they could do was accommodate me for the one night stay there I’m very very unpleased with my stay this time I feel like the bedbug situation for sure was not taken serious, especially when I brought the dead bedbug that I squished to the front desk. Then I showed Carol the manager the pictures of my bites so do better than I did if you’re going to stay. It was definitely stressful. I don’t think I will be returning as a loyal customer who has said nice things about this hotel until now.

  We’ve been coming to this hotel for a few years now because our kids love it so much. They always request the hotel with the “froggy slide.”The pool itself goes from 8” to 3 feet deep, so it’s perfect for younger kids. Hot tub nearby for parents to relax. It’s about 10-15 minute drive to the Omaha Zoo, depending on traffic. THE BREAKFAST. SO GOOD. It is a complimentary breakfast that includes many different options. The chefs usually come out and talk with guests and they are super kind. I highly recommend this place for anyone staying in the area.

  Anna who English is not very well was rude when she approached me about how many I booked for a room for instead of saying hey this is our rules and how we operate she says “you book for 1 not for party” in a yelling manner so I yelled back at her and from there we was yelling at each other maybe yall should put signs up that people can’t throw they own party without booking a room any other hotel I go to I always just picked one adult but when she checked me in she never said that and she seen that I had kids balloons and all and never asked or offered me the rental room so who fault is that blankets on the beds was dirty the pool kept cutting the kids feet and it’s over priced and not even updated rooms

  My family was very disappointed in this hotel. We were so excited for our kids to use the pool area but was disappointed in it and our room. We walked into the hotel and was hit with a very strong perfume smell. Then we got on the one elevator that was working and started to smell a strong onion/garlic type of smell that went into the hallway as well. When we went into our room, it smelled like mold. Our sheets and pillow cases had stains and holes in them. We ended up cancelling our stay and booked at another hotel. I will say I was surprised that the manager did not argue about giving us a refund as we had only been there a very short time before deciding we needed to leave. She did offer another room and apologized for issues. I do appreciate that.
