I had a disappointing stay. I went to check in after booking with expedia and some reason they said payment with expedia was not accepted. I had to pay with my debit card again, so i was charged twice. The hotel manager working at the time did not seem to care at all. I didn't like the managers attitude at all, very snooty. Once we finally got checked in and got to our room after walking a mile from the parking garage the thermostat did not work in the room. We had to pack our stuff back up, go back to the lobby and then get into a new room. All this after they knowingly had issues with the thermostat in the original room assigned. Again nothing was done about that either, no discount, no sorry, nothing. Again I'm blaming the hotel manager because he was supposed to be made aware of this and did nothing. After all that and the way we were treated I did not feel welcome at all. Very disappointed!

As a preferred Hilton brand customer, this new Hampton Inn was a solid find. Situated near downtown and the University of Nebraska, it's central to where we needed to be. The hotel is located in a rehabbed historic building, where they did a commendable job of preserving historic elements while incorporating modern touches. 👍 Highlights Location: Easy access to most places you need to be and within walking distance of the popular Haymarket area. Note: The immediate neighborhood is undergoing revitalization and can feel a little sketchy. Breakfast & Refreshments: A decent complimentary breakfast with varied options, including rotating eggs, omelets, and breakfast meats daily, plus hard-boiled eggs. Complimentary 24/7 coffee and tea were also available. Tech & Amenities: Plenty of outlets and the Digital Key feature (via the app) worked perfectly for check-in and accessing all doors, meaning you never have to visit the front desk if you prefer not to. Other amenities include coin-operated guest laundry, a small but decent fitness room, and a pet-friendly policy. Rooms also feature Smart TVs. Friendly Service: The front-desk staff were consistently friendly and welcoming. Parking: Secure, covered parking is available for $12 per night in an adjacent garage with an indoor walkway to the building. This was well worth the cost for easy, safe access. ⚠️ Areas for Consideration Noise: A minimal amount of street noise is noticeable, depending on your room's location. Rooms near O Street will have the most noise, but the hotel was overall quiet, even when full. The King Studio Room: Mixed feelings here. Our King Studio was definitely large with high ceilings and a small window. The bed is comfy, and the bathroom and closet are spacious. However, the room is currently lacking in drawer space and could greatly benefit from an actual work desk instead of a small table, as there is plenty of room for both. Some additional lighting would also be good, as it can feel a little dark. Service Suggestions: Parking Fee: We were charged a surprise, undisclosed additional parking fee for the "event" (football game) on top of the standard daily rate. This policy was not disclosed upon check-in. While the fee was eventually removed, staff should be trained to clearly communicate all potential parking charges at the time of arrival to prevent unexpected costs. Housekeeping: Upon check-in, I asked and was told housekeeping was daily. I was surprised to find this was not the case and had to call to inquire. It turns out the service is every other day (or upon request), as noted in the in-room QR code. There appears to be a staff training issue regarding current housekeeping policies. I would still prefer daily service, but the primary concern is the staff's miscommunication of the policy.

Loud!!!! Great hotel, great service and rooms but it’s so loud with the traffic outside. NO JOKE, loud. Stayed in second floor facing north and you hear absolutely everything outside on the busy O street, cars, trucks, motorcycles, just people talking. It’s just a normal Saturday night , can’t imagine if there was a football game going on. If you’re a light sleeper, consider something else.
