I told the lady at the front desk that Wilson made the decision to build an empire of motels when he was traveling modestly with his family in the 1940s and discovered that the few motels there were back in those days would charge for each child. According to David Halberstam, Wilson promised there and then to build a string of motels across the country where children could stay free. 😊

The shower had a sliding glass door which was a nice touch and they had Dove shower and hand soap which was also nice. We felt very secure with the double latch on the room door. Breakfast left us very full and was delicious. They had a wide assortment of different food choices. Andrew at the front desk was very friendly, was working for our whole stay, and he definitely deserves a raise. This trip was well worth it and we will definitely be back to this location.
