Great value for the price, but the service was disappointing. I booked the hotel a few weeks in advance and received both a confirmation email and a reminder email on the day of my trip. After a three-hour drive, I arrived at the motel around 5 p.m., where the front desk attendant informed me with noticeable attitude that my card had declined and that they had “tried to contact me.” This was concerning, as I checked my email, spam folder, and call log, and there were no messages, missed calls, or attempts to charge my card.
While my partner and I were trying to understand the situation, the front desk employee repeatedly interrupted us and responded with dismissive remarks such as “like I said,” which made the interaction unnecessarily unpleasant. Since we were exhausted from traveling, we decided to proceed with the reservation. Ironically, the same card they claimed had declined worked immediately with no issue.
I do not believe any contact attempt was actually made, as there is no record of a call or email, and my reservation confirmation emails indicated everything was set. While the stay itself was reasonably priced, the customer service experience at check-in was frustrating and unprofessional.
