I usually do not stay in the Holiday Inn range for travel. In the Cherokee NC area the options are all more expensive than private beach houses for some reason and the places are scary looking. The Holiday Inn was better than expected. The room was clean and if you want they left you codes to text tips to the staff for cleaning the rooms. They do not come for any servicing of the room without asking (hotel standard now) so trash and towels pile up then run out. The TVs did not have smart apps, in 2026 this is kinda behind the tech curve. The TVs also could not be linked to smartphones to screen mirror shows. Breakfast is complimentary. They have solved the pancake waste issue by making a machine that dispenses 2x pancakes only at a time (next up the "Egg-on-izer" where one to order at a time pops out - just kidding). Pool is indoor, kinda small, perfect for small families. The hottub was down, but it was a 5 or 6 person round one. Perfect stop for traveling or visiting.

The full charge of the hottel stay was charged to my account a few minutes before check in. Luckily The hotel smelled clean and looked clean. I will say the pool in the december even though they have about two warming pads in the bottom, it's not enough to warm it well. We booked this hotel through booking dot com.And they told me it was heated indoors as well as a hot tub. We arrived, and it's broken and completely empty. They have a piece of paper in the pool room that says there's a screenshot on their website for 2 years that has been permanently closed because lack of availability of parts. Bs. I didn't see that posted anywhere, so it's obviously not in a place to discourage business. And I would have booked somewhere else.If I had seen it. We had a family of five pretty much counting on enjoying that. Won't be booking through them again.

We (family of 6) stayed the night here on our trip for the Polar Express. The room was plenty big enough to facilitate our family, which can be a challenge. The room and facilities were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was really good! The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to ensure a great stay! We will definitely be staying here again.

We got to the hotel later than I would have liked, a little after 9pm, check in was seamless, even with having booked the room thru a 3rd party (2 wks earlier), got up to our room, put our stuff in & went to grab a bite to eat. Came back, ate, cleaned up and was in bed when staff started pounding (no exaggeration) on our door, as if there was an emergency, & this was after 11pm. It startled all of us. When i answered the door, it was one of the hotel staff, wide eyed, talking fast, telling me 'there had been a mix up & i was given the wrong room' and even told me the name of the person who was assigned the room originally. I stared at them blankly & shrugged my shoulders & simply said, I dont know anything about that, but i had a reservation & this is the room the hotel put me in, so....not my prblm.' And they left, and I thought that was the last of it. I was wrong. The same woman came back to our room about 10-15 mins later (on the 3rd floor) and pounded even harder than before, on our door. At this point I was getting angry and saying a few choice words as approaching the door...this time, I was being asked my full name. After getting that. She left again & thankfully, we didn't hear from anyone after that. I was alarmed that they didn't know who was in the room we were given. Unreal and unsafe.
