- CGClayton GarciaNov 10, 20251.0Extremely poor communication and unfair treatment of families Our youth soccer team stayed here recently, and what should have been a fun, positive team experience turned into a stressful and upsetting night for both kids and parents. Around 7 PM, our team was having a casual pizza party in the lobby after games. The kids were happy and moving around a bit, but nothing out of control or disrespectful for that time of evening. Without any hotel staff speaking to us, an older woman in the building began yelling at our kids in the stairwell, threatening that if they didn’t stop using the stairs they would be “kicked out and never welcomed back.” This frightened several of the children. One of the parents went to the front desk to ask what was going on, and the staff member said only that there was “too much noise.” No one from the hotel ever came to talk with our group or give us a warning. Moments later, a police officer arrived and told us we had received a noise complaint and must go to our rooms or risk being kicked out — at just 8:15 PM. To make matters worse, that same woman then went to the pool area and told another family to leave the pool at 8:20 PM, even though the posted sign clearly said the pool was open until 10:00 PM. This entire experience was handled unprofessionally and without communication. A simple, respectful conversation from management could have resolved everything. Instead, our kids were frightened and confused, and several families felt targeted for no clear reason. Families and youth teams deserve to be treated fairly and to have clear communication — not to be yelled at, threatened, or confronted by police without any prior warning. I hope the hotel reviews how this was handled and trains staff to engage with guests appropriately before escalating situations unnecessarily.
