Rooms are comfortable enough, but at this specific location the shower had some mold and the shower door didn't close. For the cost and age of the building I'd expect a better level of maintenance. Breakfast was lacking, and the kitchen staff indifferent and one woman a bit rude. But again, a staff issue. Nothing to stop a nights sleep.

- LSLisa SmithOct 13, 20254.0My mother and I had an overnight stay as we traveled from NYC to Hilton Head, SC. This hotel was conveniently located right along the I-95. There were plenty of restaurants and shopping in Roanoke Rapids. Our Check-In with the young man at the reception desk (I didn’t get his name) at 5pm was quick and efficiently handled. We opened the door to a neat and clean room with the two queen beds as requested. I travel with a black light and went over the room. There were no stains, dust, or dirt detected. The only concern was that the shower had a pretty bad leak that caused water to get on the floor. The breakfast attendant (Jerry) kept the dining area clean and well stocked! The morning manager Michelle was very pleasant and inquired about our stay. (I forgot to mention the shower leak!) I informed her that we had a great stay and would definitely return when traveling this route in the future. I do highly recommend this hotel to others.

Negatives: provided with a two-person set of mediocre towels that smell like bleach, with no backup towels, and no instructions for calling room service (zero leads to a fax tone). Not nearly enough towel hooks in the bathroom. Teeny, slanted shower ledge for personal shampoo, etc. No freezer section in the refrigerator. These are problems I would expect at a much cheaper location than Holiday Inn.
