  Great location. Really old hotel with very basic rooms. When we were there the elevator was out so there was a long wait and packed elevator for the one that was working. Then for several hours the other elevator went out so it was 15 flights of stairs down and back to the lobby. Good thing I wasn't having a bad knee day! Lastly the standard HI breakfast of cereal and yogurt but no spoons to eat it with and no staff to be found to help.

  What can I say.. I think the pictures speak for themselves. While the room was clean, I overheard that this hotel is scheduled to be demolished next year. Next year can't come quick enough, as maintenance is non-existent. The only picture I didn't get was the cockroach that I saw I. The lobby area. The person at the front desk was trying to sweep it outside, stating that a "cricket" tried to get in, but I know what a cricket looks like, and that was most cockroach looking cricket I have ever seen. The breakfast was a joke, and do t even bother thinking that you are going to get a work out in by looking at the pictures of their fitness center. Jail cells are bigger than their fitness center that consists of a treadmill, eliptical and free weights. It is so tight in there that you can't use the free weights! I would not recommend this Holiday Inn, and I would question anyone's standard for a hotel if they gave this Holiday Inn 5 stars.

  Above and beyond! Very pleased. The lady that checked us in was absolutely wonderful! So accommodating. They even called to check on us in our room to make sure everything was good when we got in. Service is top notch. Room is clean, smells great, furniture is a little worn though, but the carpet, tile and sheets are very clean! Only downside is the restaurant is closed but everything else, great service from a Holiday Inn. Will definitely be back. Thankyou for a wonderful 1st visit to downtown Raleigh!

  Iconic hotel standing over Raleigh. Convenient to downtown, museums, courts, restaurants, bars, and art. Clean and quiet rooms, comfortable beds. Great views from upper floors. Covered parking onsite.

  Nice hotel in the middle of town. only complaint was the AC unit noise. Loved the Skye Tower restaurant and lounge. Ashley is a great bartender!
