I can't say enough good things about her and the hotel. It was extremely modern, clean, and the breakfast every morning was magnificent. If I was ever to be in New Bern again - I would definitely stay at this Hampton Inn location.

When Hilton Honors was informed, and the email was finally sent to the correct person, I was contacted and compensated for my inconvenience, with the assurance that this critical training and safety issue would be addressed. The response and accountability shown was excellent. ORIGINAL: On Sunday, we returned to our room in the afternoon, and found the door ajar and cleaning supplies inside. No cleaners were in sight, and our valuables were at risk. I informed the apparent lead cleaner and the desk, but didn't receive an update why this happened. Regardless of my status with Hilton, having stayed dozens of times in Hilton properties, this is the first time finding a room open has happened. We were in town for a wedding with dear friends. Having Hilton put our valuables at risk could have ruined our weekend if a theft occurred, and not having any formal acknowledgement for General Management of this extreme oversight and failure is very disappointing.

Having a tub for someone who has difficulty walking isn't good because they have a hard time getting their legs up and over the sides of the tub. Also the bathroom had a small sink area with no counter space to put anything. There was an extremely small table with towels on it and the hooks to hang towels on were at least 2 feet away. How can a non handicap person reach that from the tub let alone a handicap person? I would love to design a REAL accessible room for hotels after helping my husband a these years. The hotel was clean and the breakfast area was kept well stocked. Planning to look for another hotel next time in New Bern nc.
