- SSSharon SchlachterNov 10, 20251.0We booked a room at this hotel as one in a block of rooms set aside for a wedding we were attending. We drove 3 hours the day of and arrived at 1:30 needing to clean up and change before the 4 pm ceremony. I had received an email that said I could check in and go straight to the room (no mention of a check in time) but despite trying for two days to do so, it kept saying it could not find our reservation so we checked in at the desk. There was only one employee working the desk (Gracie) and she was perhaps the worst front desk employee I have ever encountered. While most hotels have a 4pm check in time, they will usually work to provide a room as they come available, apparently not at this hotel. We expected there might be a wait until a room was ready, but we were not expecting to be told check in was at 4, no exception. Needing to, at the very least, change into more formal attire, and with no alternatives offered by Gracie (ie any relatively private enclosed space we could use to change) we were left with no other option but to find a new hotel. Thankfully the nearby Courtyard by Marriott was amazing and we were in a room in less than 20 minutes. Now, despite the fact that we tried to check in for the event they knew or should have known was at 4, they are charging us the full cancellation fee.
- DTDoreen ThompsonOct 31, 20255.0I am so grateful for my stay at Double Tree Hilton Riverfront New Bern. We stayed there October 22nd, 23rd and 24th. The staff brought us comfort from the moment we walked through the door. My husband was scheduled for open heart surgery the morning of the 23rd so it was a blessing to be so close to the hospital. We had to arrive at the hospital at 4:30 am . I felt there were some special angels that work there that were sent to comfort us. I have to mention a few of them because they treated us with kindness and comfort that could have only been sent by angels. Karen who actually took the time to sit down with me, and listen to me, was someone that I will never forget. She took the time out of her busy schedule to just sit and chat for just a few minutes and it brought me such comfort. She prayed with me, and made me feel safe. She knew I needed some supernatural strength from God and she listened and also spoke words that so helped me through one of the hardest times in my life. I believe she is an angel 😇. Other employees who also were very kind and helpful were Autumn and Kailee, with their soft spoken words and friendly smiles. Warm cookies and also, taking care of spilled water on the bed letting housekeeping know how clean and fresh the room was at all times! Terry Ann, in the bar area was fantastic as well, so grateful for her, and Shelly who so cheerfully brought the early morning coffee with a really good positive attitude! Thank you all for making our stay there so wonderful! We were treated with A+ service. I can't wait to come back and see you all!!

We had great service and amazing employees all around us. The views from the room were phenomenal. The breakfast was great. The staff was attentive. There was live music that was loud but it ended at 9pm. I'd definitely stay here again

The boat tour AND trolley tour both pickup from this hotel- it was so convenient! Stayed for one night in October and already want to come back. The hotel had live music on the patio on a Friday night, the breakfast buffet is incredible and they will make an omelette fresh from the kitchen all you have to do is ask. The staff are all courteous, helpful and professional. The view and all the boats are stunning, I couldn’t get over how lovely it was! The beds seemed more comfortable than other Double Trees! The rooms however were a little old, although they seem well maintained and extremely well cleaned.
- NDNavy DocOct 18, 20251.0Absolute rudest front desk staff I have delt with in a very long time, VERY loud guests in lobby (almost like a party), kid in front drop off area must have popped over a hundred balloons. (Doesn't seem crazy, except every one of them was magnified by the building shape in that area. Staff could care less that it sounded like repetitive gunfire.
