Amazing! Staff goes above and beyond, the decor is mid century meets mountain top. Oak is a great dinner - get the steak, fries, pork belly app or the local fish, Rich and Mitch run a great space, you won’t go home hungry. Coffee shop on prem for the morning plus they do brunch starting at 9a on Sundays

Rooms were fair, shower control needs some work and door insulation needs replacing, had to shove a blanket under the door to block the wind.
The staff, however, is a match for any 5* hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Everyone (really, everyone) we had contact with was so helpful and thoughtful. Easily this venue’s best asset, they should all get a raise. A big one. While the location is fabulous, pretty much everything in the area is gorgeous. My recommendation to friends to stay here would be based completely on this fabulous staff.

My getaway every New Years Eve. Serene setting in our beautiful mountains. If you are looking for an upscale quiet place to relax with surrounding outdoor adventures, this is the place. The Oak Steakhouse provided a classy atmosphere with many delicious dishes, you need to make reservations way in advance.

We had an amazing experience in Highlands, NC, staying at Sky Lodge Inn and dining at Oak Steakhouse. Sky Lodge Inn was the perfect place to stay—peaceful, cozy, and in a great location. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully updated while still keeping that classic mountain lodge charm. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making our stay feel relaxing and effortless.
Oak Steakhouse was the perfect complement to our trip. The food was outstanding, with perfectly cooked steaks and attentive service, but the highlight was the pop-up Christmas bar. The festive décor, fun holiday atmosphere, and creative drinks made the experience extra special and memorable.
Highly recommend both Sky Lodge Inn and Oak Steakhouse for anyone visiting Highlands—especially during the holiday season. We can’t wait to return.

This is not for the hotel but for the venue presented as a wedding venue. Signed a contract with a certain number of people, both parties signed. Then when contract was executed, was told they in fact didn’t have what was agreed upon in contract and could not provide the number of plates and glassware for said number of guests agreed upon. Upon other issues, day of wedding came and a sewage leak smell occurred for greater than 2 hours of venue rental. Beautiful views did not make up for terrible smell. Views also included a parking lot and random vehicle parked behind overlook. Ruined every photo my guests took. Oak steakhouse was absolutely delicious, however, not enough silverware for number of guests agreed upon in contract and bride was required to rent additional glassware, flatware, and plates. Offered specialty cocktails for a price but required bride to rent additional glassware to provide specialty cocktail. Bride was told by guests how rude service was. Venue did not even provide flatware for appetizers that were passed around during cocktail hour. Event planner from venue caused bride and planner more stress than needed/foreseen in original contract. Overall, worst experience I’ve ever heard of any bride dealing with. My planner was floored with the number of issues we dealt with. Would NOT recommend as a wedding venue.
