    First time staying at Hampton Inn, Hickory, NC. Can I say, "Perfect?" I cannot say how this hotel was in the past, but I believe the renovations currently going on were done quietly. Unless I saw those individuals doing the work I never would have realized anything was going on. I was very impressed! I booked the room through the Hampton Inn site. Tamara was very professional and a delight to speak with her. No complaints with my room. Very updated features. Breakfast was fantastic too. Quiet everywhere I walked, even outside my room. PS. My family stayed with me...my cat, Buddy! No issues here either. Like I said...PERFECT!

    Our first stay last night. Will be back in a month. Friendly staff. Freshly renovated ROOMY rooms. Large comfy bed. Nice large tv. We heard no night noise. Slept great. Our new go to in town.

    Even with renovations going on, our stay at the Hampton was still wonderful. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Travis was especially helpful and truly went above and beyond, such a great employee who made our stay even better. Would absolutely stay here again!

    Hotel undergoing renovation, but rooms were done when I stayed here. Room was clean. Location to restaurants and furniture mart very convenient. Good, large flat screen tv. No amenities or food available due to first floor renovation, but that was okay with me. However, I couldn't really rate the service then, but Travis at the desk was very accommodating. Beds were terrible, hard, no give or padding. Pillows seemed cheap -- supposed feather pillows were hard and flat, no loft whatsoever. Very uncomfortable sleep, and to me, that's the most important thing in a hotel, in addition to quiet and clean. Not at all your typical Hilton brand bedding. I specifically stay at Hiltons because of their usual beds and pillows. Would not stay here again.

    WARNING!!!! CONSTRUCTION ZONE!! Not disclosed !!! The room was booked online. After the cancellation window had closed, they disclosed there would be renovations and many of the amenities would be unavailable. My breathing impaired relative had to enter their debris and dust filled lobby in order to cancel. To top it off one of their hotel desk staff decided to be extremely rude about the issue, repeatedly stating that we couldn't get the same price at a better hotel. Price was never an issue and this woman was so insulting to act like it was the only issue! At least one of the staff was kind and sane. But this was very, very unacceptable to imperil visitors by making them enter your construction site to cancel their reservation. I will be letting everyone know about this egregious customer service failure, and the Hampton Inn is on my list of places my family is never visiting again.
