This is my 5th time staying here. The rooms are always clean, the breakfast buffet is always stocked and clean, and the staff is always pleasant and helpful..
Despite the egregiously priced sundries items and required in-room ear buds due to proximity to the train tracks, I typically make this my GSO go-to.
After my interaction with the general manager, I will not be returning. And I will advise the 80k other colleagues via my booking tool to avoid this property at all costs.
I wouldn't feel safe knowing the hotel is being led by someone who lacks basic customer communication and comprehension skills.

Downtown area. Lots of stuff (pubs, eateries, microbreweries) walkable or short drive. Feel like its been recently renovated. Friendly front desk staff.

I had the pleasure of recently staying here during a work trip & had a pleasant experience.
Everyone was friendly, helpful, and welcoming: from the front desk, to the housekeeper, and the maintenance man keeping the ice/snow down on the decks.
Upon my arrival, I noticed the excellent location and ease of access to each room from the adjacent parking garage. I stayed on the second floor and my car was literally steps away from my room.
The room was clean, decor was appealing, & it felt very warm & like a “home away from home”.
I saw some reviews that mentioned the train sounds, however, I didn’t have the same experience. I heard one during a day, but it was not blaring loud and didn’t disturb me.
Highly recommend & will definitely stay here again when I am in town.

We've worked with Hampton Inn Downtown GSO for the past four years to arrange out of town lodging close to UNCG for applicants to our PhD program visiting for an interview day. This year, with 36 hours until go time, Nicole Spears (Sales Coordinator) provided us with exceptional support for a pivot plan when it became clear our event could not be held on campus due to a weather related university closure.
Nicole was responsive when I contacted her with an immediate need for meeting spaces to accommodate up to 40 people. With Nicole's support, we were able to pivot our catered group meals and opening reception to Banquet Room and Board Room at the Hampton Inn Downtown GSO.
The spaces were immaculate and well-maintained with adequate technology to use for presentations. Hampton Inn staff were professional, supportive, and welcoming to our group. Nicole's communication throughout the entire process was exceptional. In addition, the location of the Hampton Inn was just a short walk down Elm St. to Transform Greensboro--a coworking space we pivoted to for interviews. (Many of our participants commented on how nice it was to see a slice of downtown Greensboro during the busy interview day.)
I highly recommend Hampton Inn Downtown, and Nicole Spears specifically, for your next event!
