My stay at Hilton Garden Inn, Gastonia over Christmas was very nice. The hotel is clean and pretty. The staff that greeted me front desk (Liz) was welcoming and friendly. Even though my stay was short, I was happy with the accommodations. I will definitely stay at this hotel when back in Gastonia.

During my stay, I had a disappointing experience that I believe is important to share. To begin with, the lobby restrooms had a very unpleasant odor. It was not due to visible dirt, but rather a strong smell, and they also appeared dusty, which gives a poor first impression of the common areas. I also had an uncomfortable experience in the elevator with a hotel employee. He is a tall young man, approximately 20 years old. I greeted him, but he did not respond. When I asked a question related to the property, his response was very short and dismissive, simply stating that he did not know. I later noticed he was wearing airpods, which I found unprofessional and discourteous, especially when interacting with guests. Throughout my stay, I also noticed other hotel staff wearing airpods while working, which gave a poor impression and seemed to distract them from their duties. It would be beneficial for the hotel to provide proper training and establish clear rules regarding professional behavior while on duty. Additionally, I attempted to have breakfast at the hotel, but after seeing the buffet, I lost my appetite. The eggs and potatoes looked dry and old, and considering the $15 price, along with the lack of a bacon option, it did not feel like a reasonable value. I want to be fair and highlight that the restaurant server , bartender and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and I truly appreciated their positive attitude and customer service. I also believe the hotel itself is very beautiful and has a lot of potential. As someone who travels frequently and spends much of my life staying in hotels, I have a clear understanding of what good hospitality should look like. With better staff training, clearer workplace policies, and more attention to professionalism, this property could offer a much stronger guest experience. I hope this feedback is taken in a constructive way and used to improve future stays.

The room and service were good. The location was hard to get into. A crowded intersection, and the drive was shared with a Chick-fil-A drive through! My main problem was the food. Being hard to get in and out of, we were happy to find a restaurant in the hotel. We both ordered what the menu called a 12 once ribeye, for $26! The steak was a quarter of an inch thick, and was covered in wired sauce. The seasonal vegetables were limp and waxy. The whole meal was way over priced. We came down in the morning for breakfast, and found out it was $15! I'm a Hilton honors member, we always choose Hilton. I was very disappointed in this Hilton.

Chose to stay here as a Hiton Garden Inn has always been good. UNTIL now. I am a handicap individual than need specific sleeping accommodation. I made my reservation for a KING bed to help me sleep. As I check out I told the front desk that the bed was a Queen. The told me up and down that this a King bed. I told the staff to look in the room with me and they still claim it was a king. The size is not a king size. Then the manager got involved and told me again it as a king and it was a standard king for Hiton hotels. OH AN BY THE WAY THE HOTEL IS NOISY. Kids making noise at night. Loud music playing like its a club and bunch of noise from outside window. Even though I was on 3rd floor. Very disappointed to have the staff argue with you especially about a handicap situation. Great work #Hilton #HiltonGardenInnGastonia
