- SRSilvia Rodriguez6 days ago5.0Stopped at this Holiday Inn Express as the midway point between Miami and NYC. We've made this drive several times and stopped around the same area around the border between NC and SC and I gotta say, this is by far THE best hotel we've ever stayed at - enough that I felt compelled to leave a review. The rooms are impeccably clean and soooo big. The service is 10/10. This is also the only side of the road hotel I've stayed at recently that actually has a place to fill up your water bottle. We did not use the amenities, but again they looked great (pool, gym, etc.). The included breakfast was also excellent, with warm food and even a fun little pancake maker. The only downside for me is that it is a pet-free hotel. This time we were traveling without our dog so we were able to stay here, but typically we drive down with him so may not be able to stay here always. But when he's not tagging along, this will be our spot 100%.

At first glance, the hotel appeared to be a great choice as it nicely updated, free breakfast, and even a security guard on site, which gave us peace of mind. Unfortunately, we learned the hard way that things aren’t always as nice as they seem. After checking out and stopping just down the street for fuel, we discovered our truck bed had been broken into and hundreds of dollars’ worth of tools and equipment were stolen. The so-called “security” presence turned out to be as useless as a GPS with no signal. Just a word of caution for anyone considering a stay here , appearances can be deceiving.

Room was nice and clean with very comfortable bed and mattress. Free continental breakfast hit the spot. Would definitely recommend and stay as pit stop for long trips.
