I usually enjoy staying at Hampton Inns because they’re consistent, clean, and comfortable—but unfortunately, this location near I-85 in Raleigh-Durham fell a bit short of expectations.
Check-in was good, and the staff was friendly. Well insulated room makes for low street and neighbor noise. I like that.
The room itself was just nice —clean, seems like a recent update took place. Like most budget hotels, the air conditioning was noisy and cycled constantly through the night, making it hard to sleep.
Breakfast was the usual. The selection was good, hot items were warm enough. The coffee was fresh and good. All good right?
Now the real issue with this particular location. Only one elevator working. The other has been out of commission for a month is my understanding. This inconvenience makes going to and from the higher floors excruciating. On top of that the elevator moves at a snail’s pace between floors. It is not air conditioned and makes trips up and down very slow and painful with all the people piled in during busy morning and evening periods. This is not acceptable.
Overall, this Hampton Inn doesn’t live up to the brand’s usual standards. It’s adequate for a quick overnight stop if you just need a bed off the highway, but if you’re expecting the quality and comfort Hampton typically delivers, you’ll likely be disappointed. If you stay demand a first floor room.

Room 406 feels and smells clean. Typical furniture for a Hampton Inn. No complaints. The breakfast selections are normal, but a bit disappointed the oatmeal was not served this morning. They did have the instant kind out but I don’t like those.

I just want to firstly thank Andrew (Night Audit) for not only assisting me but also going above and beyond to accommodate the last minute requests for my reservation. Because of not only your compassion and empathy my meeting went AMAZING!! Had it not been for your kindness, that wouldn't have been made possible. I also want to thank the entire staff as well (FD, Housekeeping, ENG included), thank you Jasmine for assisting me too. The hotel looks absolutely GORGEOUS!! The new renovation left me gobsmacked! 😶🤩 in the best way possible. I look forward to staying with you all in the future. You ALL are AMAZING!! I Highly recommend people to stay here!!
