We had a great time. Not long after we hit the sand, several wild horses ran from the dunes to the water. Rick got us in position to take some excellent pictures then turned around so the passengers on the other side of Humvee could gets pics as well. It was early in the year so we didnt see any more horses but Rick was an awesome guide, full of Info and drove us around trails and marshes in search of more horses... all the while explaining the history of the area and the horses. We thought this would be a one time experience but we will absolutely book with W.H.A.T again. Thank you Rick!

Despite that it was really cold and windy (our fault for picking a cold windy day) and the wild horses were hiding from us, Rick the majestical horse tracking wizard was able to locate a wild horse. It was unique in that we got to observe the wild horse sniffing another wild horse’s dookie pile, and dropped a doozer atop the doozer. Glad I got it on video. Gold. We also saw a seal taking a nap on the beach. The HMMWV ride along the beach line was scenic and also awesome. Rick dropped knowledge on the surrounding area, some history, and horse facts. He made the experience worth the cold temperature. They also provided some blankets for the ride which helped the frigid kid situation. The staff was kind, the location was easily found, parking was easy. No potty breaks on the journey so hit the restroom before you mount up.

We had the most amazing afternoon with Rick of Wild Horse Adventure Tours. He was extremely knowledgeable about the horses and the area. He made sure everyone got a great view of the horses, while being respectful of the horses as well. We were lucky enough to see some on the beach! He heard that there was a baby seal on the beach and changed course so we could see it as well! I appreciate that everyone had their own seat and they had blankets to help keep you warm on a windy cool afternoon. This company is truly in it to take care of the horses and their home!

Took tour at beginning of April. Went one evening and after getting about a mile down the road it was cancelled because of severe weather warning. We were drenched. Luckily there was an opening the next day in the morning. Easy reschedule. Temp was mid 50's and dry. Most definitely needed layers and a warm hat. They provided wool blankets which really helped. Was not optimistic about seeing horses due to the cooler weather, but ended up seeing 9. Four in a group first laying down and then on beach. Three single horses each grazing, walking, and napping. The final two were stallions on the beach. They were even practiced fighting. After seeing the other your options I'm glad we went with this tour. The seats were comfortable, the ride was pretty smooth, and the guide was informative.

My father and I were visiting the outer banks area. It’s not our first time here but definitely our first time on a tour like this. Rick was our tour guide and he was absolutely fantastic. The ride was fun. He was very knowledgeable about the history and the places we were going. Hearing his personal story a bit during the drive was really amazing too. We definitely learned a ton from him even down to some amazing local spots to check out for food, trails and such. We got some education on what the company was really about and I love the mission this business is doing. If you have a choice for a tourist option this is the best kindof choice to make. Good on the conscience, good on the conversation, great on the value considering Rick stayed the course till we saw everything we came for.
