- JWJennifer WrightOct 24, 20251.0I went to celebrate my anniversary and was turned away after I had paid my reservation through booking.com not for anything me or my hubby done I was told they don't accommodate locals because they had some bad experiences with other patrons from the local area I was livid because I had planned in advance and there was no notice on their website about this so called policy I felt discriminated because I have never had anything like this happen to me I will not ever use holiday in express anywhere ever again fortunately we was able to get extraordinary accomodations at the embassy suites so our get away wasn't totally spoiled yet I had to pay more for last minute reservations elsewhere and I haven't received a refund of my 428 dollars that I advance paid so they have put a very poor opinion in mind about their services and management practices they cited they had bad experiences with locals who destroyed property and used drugs I don't even drink and am a Good Christian woman of God and ordained minister nor do I present as a drug addict or rift raft. I am livid and am going to see if my attorney can get me some sort of compensation for this last minute inconvenience and expense I had to incur I don't know if it was racial or not however it was handled as if it was and I'm traumatized from the experience of going to check in and being turned around after paying my money and planning ahead for this anniversary getaway don't book at this location or any of their locations this so called policy was not on their website or on booking.com which I thoroughly investigated before I booked as I didn't want to just go anywhere and made an informed decision before I had my husband take off for the weekend for our thirteenth anniversary my advice go to hotels.com and stay anywhere else thank God the embassy suites had an availability this late of date I was embarrassed and devastated to be treated like I was trash when I've not ever been there before we usually go to the hotel across the street but due to the facility offering a indoor pool I chose this location in Benson NC then as I was about to leave the general manager said the pool wasn't even working as if their discrimination wasn't insult enough
