It just wasn’t worth it.
My husband and I love Beaufort and visited multiple times. We had our eye on this cute hotel from the promo pics and instagram, and eventually splurged on a weekend trip here for our anniversary.
The price just didn’t match the experience.
Room: The room was a vinyl box, with slightly-better-than-ikea furniture. The decor was generic. The walls were paper thin. We were kept up all night by a party happening next door, and when we finally caved and asked the front desk to call… we could hear the neighbors phone ring and their conversation with the front desk. Though they were loud, it’s really on the hotel for failing to insulate and sound proof their rooms - but that’s what happens when private equity cuts corners to make a quick buck.
Parking: Self parking was “200m” away. You have to walk ~5min down the street with cars blasting past and only a sidewalk on one side, with minimal lighting.
Restaurant: Service was great and the location on the water was nice… but the food was honestly just bad. The crab cake was fine, but the sirloin was floppy and bland, and the fried oysters were memorably awful.
Location: The views from the main building on the water are nice, but most of the rooms are in the other building with minimal views. The hotel itself is not walkable to anything, you’ll have to drive.
Also, each morning I went to go enjoy a coffee on the porch rocking chairs…which was really nice *except* for the weirdly loud beach party playlist that played every morning. It would be fine for evening given the restaurant nearby, but it was weird to have blasting at 7am. The other guests on the porch also noticed this and commented on it.
Overall, the hotel is a cautionary tale of instagram versus reality.

Just completed my 7th consecutive year of taking a group of about 70 customers to Beaufort Hotel by boat. Alyce is one of the best sales managers I have ever worked with. Reagan is responsive and attentive. Alyce and her staff try to find a way to say "Yes!" instead of, like many hotels, a reason to say, "No." The hotel is beautiful and my customers always have a great time. I highly recommend considering Beaufort Hotel if you have a large group...they are on their A Game! Every. Single. Time.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner and wedding at the Beaufort Hotel, and it was absolutely perfect! Everything went so smoothly. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff was wonderful. The water views were absolutely gorgeous and made such a beautiful backdrop for the whole weekend. It was so nice to be able to give guests the option to stay on site so that no travel was needed. Our guests loved every moment, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. We’re so grateful to the team at the Beaufort Hotel for making our wedding so special!
