Perfect hotel it feels no one talks about! It captures the culture of Asheville so well. ranging from real matcha at the rooftop bar to a speak easy with the coolest and nicest people from around the area. So much charm and hospitality is shown to guest. Rooms are very comfortable and also have an artistic feel that feels genuine that other hotels don’t capture anymore. My go to hotel in Asheville from now on.

I’ve stayed at the Flat Iron twice now. Both times were incredible. From the customer service, to the rooms and accommodations, everything was perfect. This is a classy hotel that showcases history all throughout. Be sure to read the plaques on each floor outside of certain “rooms”. The drinks at the bar are crafty created with precision and fun that make the experience really enjoyable. Lastly, you really can’t beat the location. Just a few blocks from the South Slope in one direction and seconds away from shopping, food, and local breweries in the other. I couldn’t imagine spending my anniversary at another hotel after this past trip. We will definitely be back!

I just checked out of this hotel and let me tell you, I will never stay here again. The room was tiny and didn’t even have a table to eat at. I’m not sure if it’s understaffing but the rooftop bar and cafe were closed more often than not, so eating on the floor or the bed with a towel were sadly the only options. There’s no room service only the overpriced options from the restaurant downstairs. The night I arrived there was snow and ice on the roads and no valet to be found not even a clearly marked door for the hotel and I sadly got stuck in a side street due to the ice and cars blocking the unmarked fire lane they’ve chosen for valet. Not to mention when I did find my way inside there was no staff at the check in desk only the concierge desk that I assume only one staff member was responsible for (again poor management and understaffing I can only assume) and the poor man was occupied by visibly inebriated guests, I felt terrible interrupting him just to get checked in. To top off the already inconvenient stay, imagine my surprise going into my room after two trips with my bags (because the staff available will only watch you struggle with your bags instead of helping) before check out time to find housekeeping and I assume management in a cardigan already inside my room! Inside my room and trying to hand me items that I “left” despite it being prior to 11, I guess I had run out of time to even use the bathroom before my 4 hour roadtrip! I was greatly disappointed in the state of “hospitality” and was rushed during check out, wasn’t even asked about my stay. Probably because they either have an idea or just treat anyone who looks young this way, I’m not sure, but I’ll be telling everyone to look for any other options in the downtown area.

Five-star hotel with five-star staff. From the moment you walk in, the energy is pure Asheville — a blend of art, hospitality, and mountain soul. From the manager to the doorman, everyone here makes you feel like you’ve just arrived at your stylish home away from home. But I’m not telling you anything new if you’ve stayed here before. By evening, the whole place comes alive. The Sky Bar, the restaurant, and even the corridors buzz with conversation, music, and the clink of glasses. Guests mingle with locals who know this place is something special. Step outside and you’re surrounded by Asheville’s best — restaurants, breweries, museums, and shops. Honestly, you could throw a stone and hit a musician or a plate of something amazing. And let’s talk about the food — because it’s every bit as good as the atmosphere. Head up to the Sky Bar for a one-of-a-kind cocktail crafted by their mixologist, then order a pizza straight from their legendary downstairs brick oven. Or sit down for a proper meal built from farm-to-table recipes that celebrate local ingredients and Southern creativity. Don’t pass up the taramazo — trust me on that one. I recommend booking one of the king suites for the comfort and those postcard-worthy city views. And don’t miss the small things that make this place shine — like the coffee and tea stations tucked on each floor, each with its own personality. Walk the halls, explore the quirks, and soak it all in. The Flatiron isn’t just a hotel; it’s an Asheville experience — layered in charm, taste, and heart.

I had the great pleasure of staying at The Flat Iron hotel in Asheville, NC. I highly recommend The Flat Iron Hotel for anyone visiting Asheville. Come for the views and the history, but stay for the wonderful service! The hotel is simply stunning, with a masterful remodel that celebrates its history. You can feel the character in every corner. The three distinct rooftop lounges offer absolutely amazing, panoramic views of Asheville and the surrounding mountains. The basement speakeasy is a fantastic, sophisticated touch, featuring a great mixologist who crafts great cocktails. The rooms are spacious and incredibly comfortable, especially the beds, which guaranteed a restful sleep. The views from the room windows are truly beautiful. My only suggestion for an even better experience would be to add a mini-fridge and microwave to the rooms. I hope to see these small conveniences added as the hotel continues to evolve. They leave a post card in the room for you to send down a fun mail shoot - and they even provide the stamp for you. The star of the show is John, the old-fashioned elevator operator. John is absolutely amazing! His genuine happiness is infectious, and he is a fountain of local knowledge. He knows all the great restaurants and fun sights to see in Asheville. He went above and beyond to be helpful, making us feel like absolute VIPs from the moment we arrived. John truly made this hotel special—he is a priceless asset to The Flat Iron.
