Hotel is right off highway 64 so you will have to drive to get to downtown. Quite convenient and close to the zoo. The service at this hotel is outstanding. We checked into a double Queen room and found the sink to be clogged and it was after dinner time. Stephanie who works the front desk came up and fixed it. She's said someone put a cigar into the sink drain. She also cleaned the sink afterwards. This is excellent customer service as we didn't have to wait for maintenance who's already left for the day.
The coffee machine here dispenser hot water for tea. The water did not have coffee taste, which is a big plus to is tea drinker. They have two machines in the lobby, accessible at anytime. The pool was closed (4/15/2026), not sure when it will open.
Breakfast was included, the usual cheese, or vegetable omelette, turkey sausage or bacon. No toast bread or bananas; cinnamon buns, muffins, bagels, apples and oranges. No hard boil eggs either. We selected this hotel based on it's high rating and the service was exemplary.

The front desk workers here, especially Angela, go above and beyond in aiding with reservations!

Find a bug in the pull out bed, No biggie. Front desk lady was a little snoby but that's ok. I understand they can have it hard sometimes. All and all I'm having a good time and like the room

We stayed here because of its proximity to the zoo. It had the overall best reviews, especially regarding cleanliness. I’m giving it four stars because it’s certainly not a five star place, BUT it’s very clean, rooms are spacious, and the beds are VERY comfortable. It’s quiet and kid-friendly.

Stayed at the HIE in Asheboro for two nights because it was conveniently close to Seagrove, where I was attending a pottery conference.
The reception staff were courteous and accommodated our request for a room on a higher floor away from the elevators. We also got complimentary bottles of water and a granola bar (which you don't always get at many, more expensive, hotels). The room (two queen beds) was clean, the pillows were comfortable and they and the bedding smelled clean without having any artificial scent. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion were provided in large bottles near the sink and in the shower. There was a Nespresso machine, coffee, tea, and creamer. Breakfast was included in the rate, and there was a good selection of items, hot (eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes/waffles) and cold (yogurt, cereal, juices, milks) with coffee and tea.
The hotel is on a main drag with several gas stations and restaurants so one has a lot of options.
The TV selection was adequate but, more importantly, the room was spacious and the AC/heater could be set to a comfortable temperature and wasn't very noisy (some rattle). The water pressure was pretty good and the water got nicely hot. The only small flaws were that the bathroom outlet wasn't working (but there is one right outside in the foyer, with a full-length mirror) and I had to call the front desk with my mobile to ask a question because the line didn't work. I reported both to the front desk as I checked out and they sent someone to check on both
Check-out was also a breeze. I'd recommend this hotel and will stay there again, if I'm in the area once more.
