  Best Place to Stay (especially in a Winter Storm)!! The staff at this location were compassionate, professional, and the very best example of hospitality and kindness! My car ran off the road during Winter Storm Gianna. I was relocating from New Orleans, LA to Raleigh, NC. I didn’t even know where I was because of a detour given by my GPS during a 100-car pile-up on I85N. The Sheriff Deputies were taking persons to this location due to the emergency. When I walked in, I was cold, confused, and lucky to be alive. At the front desk, LaShonda & Crysta were comforting and on task to make sure I felt safe and that everything would be ok. They made quick decisions, working as a great team as a couple came in right behind me, their car had run off the road and hit a pole. They were also in a similar state emotionally and physically and were attended to with the same helpful demeanor, quickly, efficiently. I couldn’t believe how well both women managed everything for us. I soon found out that the hotel was very full and there were others getting tended to as well in similar fashion. There was hot coffee, cocoa, & tea on the ready 24 hours and it was very good. In the morning, Miss Mary had an AMAZING & FREE breakfast waiting for all of us! Everything was presented so nicely and fully stocked. Miss Mary was nearby and nothing was ever left unattended as this one time I saw someone had grabbed the last piece of bacon in its tray and there was Miss Mary with a nice warm full replacement! I ended up needing to stay for a second night, LaShonda made sure I was set up and Crysta knew I needed a late checkout and made those accommodations for me without any problem, the staff all knew how much of a situation so many of us were in and they checked in the status of our cars and situations which was so unexpected. Whether big or a small thing like I didn’t have a toothbrush, no problem went unattended. Ariana was great as a part of the housekeeping staff with towels, etc. The entire staff showed concern for me and others. Aaron, who was maintenance personnel did what he could to find anyone to help my stuck car. Craig was INCREDIBLE offering to drive me and others to our cars to meet a tow truck if needed. I saw him in the lobby giving a stranded woman a ride when she needed it. She was so grateful and we all were as Craig also helped us understand directions and the backroads near the area and weather conditions. He was extremely helpful. I felt so taken care of, and it helped ease my mind as I worked to resolve my stranded situation. On the 2nd night of the storm that had intense closings all around us, I thought about how diligently Crysta was as she worked to help guests and staff (many who were away from home and family and were staying in the hotel) find lunch and dinner options.She helped coordinate guests’ meal orders.Everything seemed closed up (the hotel had some frozen meals and snacks which was great, but we needed a real meal!). She took her knowledge of the area, had a great smile & assured us we could work it out and we did! The staff really catered to the guests, making us a priority.I was able to speak with Karissa and Lynda about the efforts and success of the team but I needed to share the word with other travelers. Karissa and Lynda were lovely and continued the hospitality that had been delivered with care and grace .It didn’t matter what it was, LaShonda, Crysta, and Craig were on top of everything! Karissa and Lynda have built an incredible team! I didn’t get to meet everyone, but I know they were all working together to benefit, comfort, and get things right.I applaud all the work this great hotel does, they have the heart of true hospitality!I must also include that I loved that the free breakfast had good name brands for yogurt, cream cheese, and handy things like a pancake maker that was a lot of fun!The room and hotel were impeccably clean (so impressive considering the snowy weather)!I not only would stay again but anyone traveling in Albemarle County would be missing out if they didn’t!

  Great clean hotel, all the employees seemed nice, great breakfast spread each morning. The only negative is the elevator is slow as molasses.

  Nice hotel and very clean. Good breakfast options. Friendly staff. Snacks, Drinks, and Ice on 1st and 3rd floor. Great, GREAT pillows
