This was a very nice hotel, the only complaint was they make you pay a $20 fee just to park in the parking lot when you have already paid almost $300 for a night.

We’ve been coming here for many years now, in all four seasons and love the place. Sitting on a calm stretch of the Clark Fork River and overlooking Mt. Sentinel, it enjoys a calm Montana beauty. The hotel’s location connects it to the river trail system, which makes it easy to walk to UM campus or downtown to one of Missoula’s many restaurants, shops and bars. FINN restaurant, which overlooks the river, is very good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner with good Montana beers on tap, a fine wine list, and craft cocktails.
We love the people here. From desk clerk staff to housekeeping to restaurant servers, each one has been terrific.
The rooms and the restaurant were renovated or refreshed a few years ago. Now (August 2025) the owners are renovating the lobby, pool, and fitness center. We’ve stayed here twice through this project and have enjoyed our stay in a river-facing room.

We checked in to this hotel and our first room reeked of cigarettes so we requested another room…which also reeked of cigarettes. As others mentioned the grounds were a mess our room overlooked a Burger King, you wouldn’t even know you were by a river, and self parking was $20. We ended up cancelling our stay and moving to the Hilton garden inn, which we have stayed at before and is great. I will say the staff were very sweet and I appreciated their help.

Perfect view of the river and the best pillows. Seriously, the best pillows! Under construction so some amenities were unavailable. My only real complaint would be that they charge $20.00 to park which seemed inappropriate considering that I paid a premium to stay there.
