Shay is the absolute friendliest and sweetest front desk associate I've ever encountered with any hotel on the phone and in person. The rooms are very clean and I appreciate that they are above and beyond pet friendly.

After a long day of work and traveling, it was so nice to walk in at 9:30 pm to a smiling face. Shay was an absolute delight, friendly, courteous, happy, everything an employee should be. If we come back through Meridian, we hope Shay will be working!

I was honestly surprised to see some of the negative reviews because my experience at this hotel was fantastic. Everything was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Zach at the front desk.
I’m also a sucker for a good breakfast, and the one at Tru really impressed me. The automatic pancake machine was fascinating, and there was plenty of bacon, eggs, yogurt, and a great assortment of cereals.
This hotel will definitely be my go-to spot whenever I’m in Meridian. In fact, I’ve already booked my stay for next week!

HORRID! FILTHY carpets. TV didn't work. Phone didn't work. ...Breakfast was with the Jetsons, everything was automated. With a wave of your hand 2 rubber panckes would plop on your plate. They had an automated yogurt machine that would squirt fruity flavored diarrhea in your cup, complete with toppings like crushed oreos. They had rubbarized eggs omelet discs with processed cheese oozing from the center, and cheap hot dog slices soaked in watery maple syrup. ...if the is Hilton, it is mo longer synonymous with quality. When you see Tru by Hilton, choose the park bench. There's a reason there is no #E# on the end of tru

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels across this country, and I’ve got to tell you—every once in a while you run into a place that doesn’t just get the “hospitality” thing right… they remind you that there’s still real integrity and kindness in the world. That’s what happened to my wife and me at the Tru Hotel in Meridian, Mississippi on Sunday, October 5th, 2025.
After we checked out, my wife realized she’d lost a small pouch that held her diamond tennis bracelet—worth more than $26,000. We figured it must’ve been at the last place we stayed before the Tru, so she called them and they had them look, reporting that it had not been found. My wife didn’t even call the Tru, because she didn’t think it could’ve happened there.
Then, on Monday the 6th, I got a call from Candy at the Tru. She told me they’d found a bracelet tangled up in the sheets in the laundry. Man… I can’t tell you how that felt. I drove back, met Joy, the lady who oversees the department, and after checking my ID, she placed that bracelet right in my hand.
You can’t fake that kind of honesty. You train it, and I'm glad Hilton does exactly that, but this level is a reflection of character that goes far beyond the norm.
So yeah—five stars all day long. Clean rooms, good people, great sleep… but more than that, they showed what it looks like to do the right thing when nobody’s watching. Thank you, Candy, Joy, and the Tru team in Meridian!
If you’re ever passing through Mississippi, stay here. You’ll rest easy knowing you’re in the hands of people who still live by values that matter.
