  One of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. The first room we were shown gave us headaches because of how bad it smelled like smoke (this was a non-smoking room). We told them, and they moved us to a different room. We stayed there, wake up the next morning, and my husband is going through a severe reaction that he only has to black mold. I investigate and find black mold in each corner of the bathroom. This is not the most uncommon experiences at value hotels, however, before staying here, we informed the hotel that we have a severe allergy to black mold and to make sure the room didn't not have any. We asked to be moved rooms so we could extend our stay as we needed to, and they could not provide that. We told Best Western corporate and the hotel, and not only did one refunded us, but the staff of the SureStay Meridian lied to corporate telling them there was no black mold- when I showed them the black mold. My husband is still recovering from the mold exposure there due to the negligence of this hotel. We are sincerely disappointed in the SureStay and in the response of Best Western as a whole as we are rewards members who seek out Best Westerns... The black mold photos attached. We strongly recommend to not stay at the SureStay Meridian.

  This hotel claims to be a 3-star hotel. It really is not. 2-stars at best. While the location (right off the highway) is great, and they have truck parking, that is where the good ends. The rooms are very basic and old. The linens are stained. The rooms are only minimally clean. The room phone did not even produce a dial tone, which is a HUGE safety concern! Breakfast is so minimal that it is laughable. For what we paid, I guess it wasn’t awful, but we wouldn’t choose it again.

  I had a terrible experience at this hotel and strongly recommend staying elsewhere. I booked a King Bed room online at a promotional rate, but upon arrival, the front desk staff tried to force me to pay an extra $20. They told me that because I chose the "cheapest" price, I would be put in a smoking room unless I paid the fee—despite my reservation clearly stating my room type. As someone with lifelong asthma, being forced into a smoking room is a serious health hazard, not just a preference. When I tried to explain this, the staff was incredibly rude and dismissive, even he asked me to leave the hotel The room itself was disgusting. I found cigarette butts on the floor, the bathroom was covered in stains and mold, and the bedding was also stained. I have photos of these conditions. The service was unprofessional and the "bait-and-switch" pricing is completely unacceptable. Save your money and stay somewhere that values cleanliness and basic customer service.

  So convenient off the interstate, close to restaurants, very friendly and helpful staff, reasonable prices. Loved that I could park right outside my room so no need to haul luggage up and down elevator. I didn't need it, but there was a very nice laundry center available and ice machine was convenient and working. This is our family's regular stay when coming through Meridian.
