During the week, my husband stays at different hotels while traveling for work & i visit him when he gets to stay near our hometown. Candlewood Suites in Hattiesburg, Mississippi has got to be my favorite. The rooms are really nice & clean with modern furniture & it has a kitchenette with a glass-top stove, dishwasher, & a full size refrigerater & freezer. The cabinettes have EVERYTHING you need to cook any meal, pots, pans, strainer, utensils, Pyrex Tupperware bowls with lids, & a set of 4 of drinking glasses, glass coffee cups, plates, saucers, & bowls. And also has coffee maker with several to-go coffee cups & lids, along with creamers, sugars, & several types of coffee to choose from. The beds & pillows are so nice & THE MOST COMFY SLEEP YOU WILL EVER GET!!! And as if that isn't enough, they have 4 washers & 5 dryers that guests can use FOR FREE, NO QUARTERS NEEDED!!! And checkout is at 12pm, so you don't have to wake up super early to try to pack & be out by 10 am like other hotels. I could live here!!

- GWGarrick WilliamsOct 18, 20252.0As a frequent traveler, I appreciate when a property balances comfort, cleanliness, and functionality unfortunately, my recent stay at Candlewood Suites Hattiesburg fell short in a few key areas. I booked the 1 King 1 Bedroom Suite with a Sofa Bed. The suite itself was quite spacious, and the front desk staff was friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. However, the positive aspects ended there. Upon arrival, there was a noticeable damp, mildewy odor throughout the hotel, accompanied by a faint smell of marijuana that persisted in the hallways and room. It immediately gave the property a neglected feel. Inside the suite, the TV in the bedroom area did not work, and the toilet constantly ran throughout my stay, which was both inconvenient and disruptive. The bathroom also required maintenance the shower/tub drained poorly, and there was heavy calcium buildup on the showerhead, which detracted from the overall cleanliness and appearance. It’s clear the hotel has potential, but it’s in need of more consistent upkeep and deeper cleaning. While the staff’s friendliness was appreciated, the property’s condition and lingering odors made the experience less comfortable than expected. With better attention to maintenance and air quality, this location could be a much stronger option in the future.
