I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis on Wednesday night, and the property was fairly quiet with not many guests around. Before check-in, they texted me upgrade options (including the Presidential Suite) with extra charges, which is fine—it's a business, after all. At check-in, though, despite clear availability, they didn't offer a complimentary suite upgrade, sticking to paid options for commissions. I'm not a huge fan of that approach, but one category upgrade is still one category, so I accepted the move to a King room with a nice Arch view. The room itself was comfortable and well-appointed, though on the smaller side. They sent a thoughtful welcome amenity with chocolate and cake, which was a nice touch. The staff throughout were genuinely friendly and attentive—they remembered my name and made me feel welcome. Ramsay's Kitchen (Gordon Ramsay's spot) was a highlight: delicious plates with generous portions, great flavors, and excellent, friendly service from the servers. The location is fantastic downtown, and I appreciated the free garage parking (very convenient and secure). Overall, it's a strong property with luxury touches, and I'd definitely stay again if I'm back in St. Louis. I just wish they'd be a bit more generous with complimentary upgrades when rooms are clearly available—small gesture that could turn good stays into great ones.

This Hotel offers a luxurious yet intimate experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff's attention to detail was evident. Check-in was smooth, and I was pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to a suite with stunning city views. The room was elegantly decorated, blending modern amenities with classic charm. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, and the bathroom featured a deep soaking tub that was perfect for unwinding after a long day. The on-site restaurant served a delicious breakfast with locally sourced ingredients, and the coffee was exceptional. The location is ideal, within walking distance of major attractions yet tucked away enough to provide a peaceful retreat. I left feeling rejuvenated and eager to return. The Urban Retreat is a perfect choice for travelers seeking comfort and style.

My girlfriend and I met her family at the Four Seasons on our way to Missouri for Christmas. The staff were incredibly professional and attentive, and were able to accommodate any question or request we had. Clearly very high-end, however a little dated in comparison to some of the smaller, newer, boutique hotels we usually gravitate toward. However the views of the St. Louis river and the Arch were very nice, and could be easily seen from their rooftop terrace or the on-site, “Gordan Ramseys Kitchen”. The hotel was also very accommodating to our dog whom joined us on the trip. That being said, considering the scale of the hotel, it’s difficult to come and go very efficiently when needing to take him for walks. There are plenty of walking paths around(including leading directly to the Arch), but it was difficult to find green space in the immediate area, and overall there were still some unsavory folks and homeless individuals hanging around the area, though I suspect that may in part be due to its vicinity to the casino next door. All that being said, we never felt unsafe, and it was clear the doormen were paying careful attention when we were outside walking our dog. The gym was very nice and spacious, including plenty of weight lifting machines. Of course, the dumbells were limited (up to 50), but I understand that is pretty standard for hotels. Overall, one of the nicer hotel gyms I’ve used. Finally, Gordon Ramseys kitchen was very nice and highfalutin, but there were a couple items which I felt were unreasonably pricy considering the substance (for instance the added chicken to our salad was $15 for about 3oz). As well, when we picked up our order, they forgot a couple things. So we needed to make a separate trip. Of course, we neglected to make a reservation, so I’m willing to give this a mulligan, especially considering the breakfast we had the next day, which was absolutely divine. As well, the cocktails we had at the bar were perhaps some of the best I’ve ever had in a hotel.
