Quiet. Rooms were nice size, comfortable, and clean. Perfect location for any medical services at Siteman, Barnes, or Wash University.

Let me preface by saying the location is great as I am receiving treatment at the cancer center next door. The saving grace of this hotel is the young man who works 3-11 pm during the day. Super sweet and helpful unlike his coworkers. Outside of that, I don’t really have many great things to stay. 1. My very 1st visit I had to swap rooms because the tub was filthy, and the second room had white stains on the couch, I didn’t swap again as I was exhausted from treatment, but I refused to even let my dog sleep on the couch. 2. This was now my 3rd time staying here and I asked for my bedding to be changed 3 times. 1st time, no sheets on the cart. 2nd time, I was told I would have to call front desk and ask night time housekeeping (no one was at front desk, the workers are often outside smoking). 3rd time morning housekeeping came by and I was told they had to check with front desk to see when they could do it. I have now checked out and my bedding was never changed. I’m including a picture of why I wanted the bedding changed. We ended up just sleeping under 1 plain sheet and throwing the blanket on the floor. 4. Housekeeping is T E R R I B L Y loud. On their phones, talking to each other, etc. Not about work either. One ladies son was apparently in trouble at school and we heard the entire conversation? 5. Last thing is checkout is at 12. They need a better system in place for housekeeping knowing when a room is vacant. they knocked on my door THREE times the morning of checkout. the 1st to remind me of check out times. ok. 2nd “oh they’re still here” she yells down the hall. 3rd “just seeing if yall were still here”. if i’m paying almost 2k for this stay, let me stay until it’s actually time to check out. Funny how housekeeping can show up to boot me out and clean up my room but could never change my bedding. Would NOT recommend to anyone visiting unless proximity to the hospital is an absolute must!

I booked for Friday and Saturday night a few weekends ago, fully paid through Expedia. I called Friday night letting them know plans changed and I wouldn’t be coming until Saturday morning. The person who answered told me that’s fine and to make sure I come to the desk by noon on Saturday to provide a physical copy of my debit card. I wake up Saturday morning, go on the Hilton app, and see my stay has been canceled. I call DoubleTree and ask what happened, and they canceled my stay and treated it as a no show despite me calling and letting them know. They do quickly get me my room back and I am able to check in that same morning. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. A few days later, I notice a $125 charge on my card from Hilton. I call to inquire and the person they connect me to say it was most likely a no show charge, but they will call and follow up in an hour to get more details. I never got a call back. I have called twice more to follow up and I never get connected to a person to actually help me, only their voicemail box. If you are erroneously charged, expect that they will make it impossible for you to get your money back.

My review is a little mixed. The staff was helpful although they treat you like your a product on the assembly line. They get you what you need but they dont look up from their computer or treat you with any kindness. Its just robotic at best. They did make my stay easy and seamless while my girlfriend was in surgery at Barnes but the hotel is not up to a standard that justifies the $355 dollar price tag that came with the 2 night stay. Charging for breakfast as a customer of the hotel is ridiculous. I stayed on the 3rd floor where they had a leak of some sorts and the wall outside my room was moldy and smelled horrible from the clean up and the work they were doing. Which was happening at 8pm for some reason. Its a good enough place to stay if you need to rest your head and take a shower but its basically a super 8 with a Hilton price tag.
