We had a lovely stay here while visiting for a funeral. Terry and his staff were phenomenal. They made a difficult time that much better. The hotel itself was nice and clean and easily accessible from the highway. But seriously, the staff here really knocked it out of the park.

A perfect place to stay if you’re visiting or supporting loved ones at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. DoubleTree offers friendly, caring staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and fresh linens that truly help you rest during stressful times. Barnes Hospital is easily accessible from the hotel, making visits simple and convenient. And after a long day, those free warm cookies are a small but meaningful comfort that really lifts your spirits. Highly recommend for anyone needing a peaceful, supportive place to stay during a hospital visit.

The rooms are out-dated and are just basic rooms with basic amenities. When you are staying here for easy access to Barnes Jewish hospital, it would be nice to have it a little more cozy.

As seniors on a fixed income, my wife and I saved for six months to stay at this DoubleTree during medical testing at Barnes-Jewish. We chose this Hilton brand for our anniversary, expecting professional hospitality. Instead, we found a predatory pricing model that forced us to flee a day early.
The stay was a relentless series of "hidden" costs. They charge $14/person for a basic breakfast and extra for parking. The tap water was cloudy and smelled of stagnant lake water, forcing us to use the in-room bottled water—which lacked any price tag, another hidden fee waiting to happen. The "free" WiFi was a useless 2Mbps; they actually upcharge for functional internet. Even the lobby vending machine charged us $5 for a "latte" that was nothing but 6oz of plain steamed milk.
The breaking point: Because these unexpected fees maxed out our credit card on day one, we realized we wouldn't have enough money left to eat if we stayed the second night. Despite explaining our situation—that we are seniors with mobility issues four hours from home—management refused to refund the second night. We were essentially told we could stay and starve, or leave and lose our money. We chose to drive four hours home exhausted and empty-handed rather than stay in a place that treats medical patients like open wallets. The hallway to the hospital smells like cinnamon apples, but no scent can mask the corporate greed we experienced here.
Hilton, you failed two seniors during a vulnerable medical week. Truly shameful.

It’s the location that’s bad. This is smack dab in the middle of a hospital complex. It can be challenging to navigate if you are from out of town. Parking isn’t the best either. Unless you need to be at the hospital don’t stay here. Rooms are nice and clean, service was good.
