We had an accident with our RV and had to stay in St Louis for 11 nights waiting for repairs to be completed. This hotel met all of our needs at a great price.

My apartment complex in St. Charles, MO is renovating all 180 units. They have been temporarily relocating the tenants and their families to this beautiful property anywhere from 2-8 weeks until their units is completed. I spent 16 days there. I loved it! The staff was very nice and friendly. I sincerely appreciated the free laundry room and used it several times. Everything was always very clean and smelled nice inside and outside the property. The property has a very nice outdoor patio with 2 nice sized gas grills with tools for guests use, and a designated covered smoking area. They welcome fur babies and have a designated poop yard as well. My room was very clean with a very comfortable queen bed, full kitchen, stove, oven, full sized fridge, and dishwasher. There’s also an ice machine right outside of the laundry facility and a very nice work out room. They have snacks and drinks for sale by the front desk at “convenience” prices. And free board games and books in a convenient library that can be checked out by guests. The only thing I didn’t like was the TV service. It was extremely difficult to navigate the remote since they subscribe to two different carriers, I guess (?) I missed my Netflix and streaming channels, haha. For families, you would probably want to bring additional pots & pans, dinnerware, silverware, etc. They provide some but it’s very limited. Although shopping is very close by for anything you may need. If I had family or friends coming in town needing a nice, comfortable, reasonably priced place to stay, this would be my first recommendation.

I am completely blown away at the result of my recent stay. They TOOK $250 out of my account with ZERO notification, "proof", complaints, etc. They claim I smoked in the room. I DO NOT smoke. PERIOD. How on earth can people basically steal your money, no ethics, just because they can? It seems these days that once a business get the digits, it's anything goes. And furthermore, how can I prove I don't smoke? To make a long story shorter, I stayed there a couple weeks ago and liked it so much, I went back again for another stay. And had an almost Total Opposite experience. Half of the things that were supposed to be in the room were missing. So, I advised the front desk and got towels, hangers, and a laundry hamper which were the basics and I left it alone, even though the room smelled like wet dog and other things were missing. Oh, and there was a huge oil stain on the sheets. More significantly, there was a huge "hill" jutting up in the center of the tub, making it very difficult and unsafe to take a shower. Management told me that the repairman had commented on it and the conclusion was that they had "no idea" what that huge unsafe hill was. So, they went ahead and rented it anyway. Good thing I'm not a sleazy person, huh. When I extended my stay over several days, I was charged twice the $100 deposit. Then, after being a reasonable guest and staying for five days in a room that technically probably would have had to go unrented, zero dollar revenue, they decided to help themselves to $250 more out of my account, leaving me with $50 for the week. I have no idea the circumstances of how they came to the conclusion that I smoked in the room. I am a radical non smoker. Cigarette smoke makes me very sick. I am always the person in a tif with a smoking roommate who won't follow a nonsmoking house policy. As a matter of fact, that is one of the reasons I just moved on October 18. So, I guess, the moral of the story is--that will teach me to give repeat business, right?

I would highly recommend for anybody who is looking for a hotel to not stay here. Coming into the hotel the service was pleasant but there was an underlying smell of must in the building. After getting situated in the room my fiancé pointed at the wall and said “ looks like we are sleeping with bugs”. When we got closer to it we realized it was a bed bug and I was able to catch it. I’ve never come across a bed bug so huge. Other than the fact there’s a bug infestation, the wall within the rooms are cracking and the bathrooms smelled like urine. After finding the bug we contacted the front office, gave them the bug and left. Since we got the room through hotels.com we have not been able to get a refund from either website nor candlewood.
