    I had a disappointing experience at the Hilton Garden Inn Springfield due to misleading information about their EV charging stations and concerning room cleanliness issues. Prior to booking, I called to confirm the chargers were operational and free for guests, which was affirmed. After booking, I messaged to reconfirm and inquire about early check-in, receiving another confirmation that charging was complimentary. Upon arrival, my Tesla displayed a charge of $0.30 per kWh, comparable to supercharging rates and far above Missouri’s standard utility costs. The front desk attendant stated it should be free, noted I was the first to report otherwise, and suggested I proceed with charging and request a refund post-stay by providing the total amount. Additionally, during my stay, we discovered multiple bugs in the room, including one in the bed, which was unsettling and unexpected for a property of this brand. Following my departure, the front desk was unable to assist with the charging refund. I obtained the general manager’s email but received no response for seven days. The eventual reply blamed me for missing a posted sign (despite my three inquiries to staff) and offered only 5,000 Hilton points as compensation. This handling reflects poor customer service, inaccurate advertising of free charging, and inadequate maintenance standards. I would have selected another property had I known the true costs and conditions, and I will not return. The team could benefit from clearer communication, policy alignment, and enhanced quality checks to better serve guests. Especially the general manager.

    Thank you for your response and for refunding the charges, rooms are nice, only a lot of noise and the property is pretty hidden Terrible, do not recommend it they lie to to on fees, over charge and then say that their policy is different of what you were told in the beginning, we are diamond members so it is even more disappointing.

    The staff is very friendly and attentive, the experience was good but the beds are very hard with uncomfortable bedding and the tubs are very small.
