A monument to commemorate the testimony of the Eight Witnesses of the Book of Mormon, located 10 minutes southwest of Liberty, MIssouri. The graves of two of the Eight Witnesses—Christian Whitmer and Peter Whitmer Jr.—are at the site. The monument provides information about two events that occurred on this land: the discharging of Zion’s Camp and the calling of early Church leaders in Missouri.

    There is a nice large marker at this spot. Many of the eight witnesses lived in liberty or came through here in the mid 1830s.

    It's close to the road and is a memorial for four different events in LDS Church history.

    The GSP guide voice for Google Maps guided us to a back side view of the Monument. We could not find daytime entrance to entrance gate; grass was too grown up on Mother's Day 2025, sadly.
