    I am fortunate in that the two times I've stayed here, I actually had clean sheets. However, there was no hot water on the third floor. That was my second stay. First stay I had hot water on the first floor. My other really big complaint is the hallways smell atrocious and they're hot and stuffy. During my second stay my room had stink bugs in it . The first time I stayed here it was $126. I came back 2 weeks later and my bill was $237 for one night for two people. I will never ever stay here again. It took them 20 minutes to figure out how to use the computer to check us in. I didn't seem to like the fact that I paid 126 the first time and they tried to tell me it was going to be $287 and I'm like what for and why ? That's when he told me it would be. 237 still didn't make me happy but I was tired of driving all day. If you can afford to stay somewhere else I highly suggest you go. This is just not Holiday inn standard. I don't know how or why they got a franchise name but they don't deserve it.

    We chose this hotel out of location convenience for a local concert. We tried checking in multiple hours early on accident and they waived the early check in fee so that we could get in and get ready. We came back late from the concert and we needed something from the breakfast area but couldn’t find the item. Instead of saying no they went out of their way to go find the item for us. Overall great and happy experience.

    Stayed here last weekend. I always stay at Holiday Inn Express because I know what I am getting.. not the case here. Not the cleanest hotel I've stayed in, shower had grime, and the headboard on the bed had fingerprints on it. Curtains in the room were broken. The water went out for the hotel for a little while as well.

    If I could give a negative number I would. We had a confirmed room and had paid for 2 nights. When we got there the room had been given to someone else and there were no other rooms available. Front desk refused to give us the name of the manager because he said he had no idea who the manager was. We had to drive almost an hour to find another hotel which was double the price. We are IHG members and have stayed at numerous IHG hotels without a problem until this one. We've never had an issue with a confirmed booking, it was already charged to our credit card. I can understand if it hadn't been paid for but it had. So the hotel got paid twice for 1 room. Absolutely ridiculous. After reading the reviews afterwards, it looks like this is a sub-par IHG hotel. Be sure to read the disgusting reviews.

    Well Below Expectations for a Trusted Brand We chose this location based on consistently positive experiences with Holiday Inn Express properties across the country, including a fantastic stay earlier in our trip in St. Louis. Unfortunately, our experience at this Kansas City location was very different. Upon arrival, the lobby was crowded with a long check-in line and several guests expressing concerns about incorrect room assignments and other issues. While we remained optimistic, our experience quickly followed a similar path. Despite booking for a family of six, we were initially assigned a basement-level room that did not have adequate sleeping arrangements or furnishings to support our reservation. When we raised this with staff, they attempted to help but seemed unfamiliar with room configurations and availability. We were provided cots, but they were in poor condition, and the linens did not appear up to expected cleanliness standards. The room itself had a noticeable odor, worn furnishings, and several maintenance concerns, including carpeting and bedding that appeared well past their usable life. The pool area also raised concerns, with flickering lighting, limited towels available, and water clarity that did not meet expectations. After returning from the pool, we were unable to access our room due to a malfunctioning door lock. It required multiple trips to the front desk before assistance was provided, during which time our children had to wait in the hallway. We were eventually moved to another room, but it had similar issues, including insufficient sleeping arrangements, worn linens, and a non-functioning television. Later that night, an alarm sounded in a nearby vacant room for an extended period without staff response, making it difficult to rest. At checkout, there was confusion around our reservation and billing, along with delays in locating staff to assist. While the team was polite, the overall experience suggested a lack of coordination and oversight. We understand that issues can happen at any hotel, but the number and consistency of concerns throughout our stay made this experience disappointing—especially compared to the standard we’ve come to expect from the brand. We hope management and corporate will take a closer look at this location to address these concerns and bring it in line with the quality guests typically associate with Holiday Inn Express.
