  This place was great! The best part of this place was an employee named JJ!!!! He was awesome and gave us great and honest local recommendations….and…he was SUPER FRIENDLY AND COOL! Nice work JJ… We will stay here again!

  I travel often, all over the country for work, and most stays are forgettable in passing. But NOT Origin Kansas City! Though new, the hotel was modern and fun, but felt cozy. The rooms and amenities were great and I lacked nothing- It was easy for me to get to the convention center as well, and there was plenty of parking... but the staff were the absolute highlight of the trip! I stayed Thursday through Monday and I almost wish I was there longer. JJ at the front desk was incredible- he as so kind and helpful and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with him and seeing his warm smile! The bartenders were also fantastic, asking how my day was as I passed through, remembering what I was there for. I looked forward to being in the lobby or in the bar area just for the staff alone. Whether you wanted local recommendations, some help with printing/cutting something out (I forgot a few things at home and the lovely woman working that night was immensely kind and helpful) or just a small conversation while relaxing for the evening, they were just so accommodating and genuinely friendly. These types of interactions sincerely help as a solo travel constantly away from home. I will absolutely be back to Kansas City, if not for the food, but to visit with the staff and stay at Origin again.

  This was the best hotel experience we have ever had! It will be our go to place to stay anytime we go to Kansas City. The great experience started as soon as we walked through the door, the two working the check in desk were so friendly and fun! The downstairs lobby area was super inviting and has a very homey vibe, we spent our Saturday night playing pool and dominoes in the lobby with some great drinks from the bar. The room was clean, beds were comfy, and the bathroom was great. The riverfront location makes for a great view and inviting outdoor area. The trolly station near the hotel was under construction but we were able to walk to the riverfront city market trolly stop in about 20 minutes, the walk was scenic and enjoyable. Once the trolly station up, it will make this location even more ideal! Highly recommend this spot for your next stay!

  Nice hotel but very overpriced. Paper thin walls that woke me up multiple times throughout the night due to others in the hotel getting up and using the bathroom in the night, bar service was slow and didn't taste correct (I will note the normal bartender wasn't there, they claimed). Room premium features included a nicer streaming tv, a nespresso and a very tall not very powerful shower head. The location was great though! Also you have to pay for extra parking if the street parking is full. Nice staff!

  This place is a hidden gem in KC! The location is breathtaking with the river steps away where you can enjoy a stroll along the river walk. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, modern and well kept. Not only is the hotel itself amazing, but the staff are anyways friendly, welcoming, smiling and absolutely outstanding each and every of them I’ve encountered. JJ always goes above and beyond to ensure guest are comfortable with the hotel accommodations and makes sure to end every conversation asking if there is anything else he can do for you. I highly recommend this hotel, you will not be disappointed.
