Nicely renovated, had free breakfast (it was only on 12/31 and 1/1). Restaurant inside is nice as well. But the bathroom door in the room made a weird noise.

Ok well… I had high hopes for this place based off of the reviews.
Unfortunately I was disappointed.
I stayed there for 3 days and nothing in the hotel worked the entire time I was there.
I came to spend time with my grandparents because they are not doing well.
I left my toddler at home with his dad so I could get some free time and relax.
Anytime I book a hotel, I make sure it has a gym and a pool and WiFi/tv screen sharing so I can watch my shows.
The entire 3 days I was there, the elevator was out of service, the pool was out of service, and the tv/netflix didn’t work!
I really didn’t get to enjoy my stay and relieve my stress the way I wanted to.
I don’t feel like I got my moneys worth at all.
Almost $500 for a 3 day stay and nothing worked.

This hotel was much needed. This was our third night on our road trip across country and the first 2 nights had horrible beds and bland hotel breakfasts. This Holiday inn had COMFORTABLE BEDS. Finally a good night sleep 😴. And an actual restaurant with warm croissants, breakfast burritos and so much more delicious food. And the staff was so kind and welcoming. I will definitely stay here again if we pass through Joplin again.

Room too hot: thermostat useless. Now charging $10.99 for crappy IHG frozen eggs. Really not worth the price but the alternatives are bedbug infested foreigner run Wyndham ops. Edit: breakfast looked even worse upon inspection. AVOID!

Shout out to SPENCER, he was the night clerk that greeted us with warmth and cheerful disposition last night. He checked us in quickly & explained everything clearly. Such a joy when traveling for 10hrs on the road. Hotel is pet friendly, there is an added $50 pet fee which is standard in almost every hotel we have encountered. They have an orange tabby that makes the rounds in the lobby too! Hotel lobby was very clean, well lit and inviting. I have bookmarked this for future stays as we are always traveling from Texas. Truly exceptional experience all around.
Something of note for most travelers...this is located just behind the Holiday Inn Express on the main road, parking is connected though making it easy to traverse. I made the mistake of going to this one first. Being set behind it, it is off the main road and VERY QUIET! If you struggle with road noise when traveling, this is the place for you. Lots of food choices if you chose to eat somewhere other than the restaurant on site.
We had a standard king, crisp linens, as well as a twin setee and trundle below. Plenty of storage. Microwave and mini fridge as well as a Keurig with coffee.
My only disappointed was with the bathroom. Sadly, no vent in the bathroom. Hot showers tend to fog everything , leaving moisture on all the surfaces. Not sure why hotels in general have stopped placing vents in bathrooms, but here we are!
